Underwhelmed for brunch - Edit
I wanted this to live up to the hype but I was honestly a bit disappointed. Convinced a few carnivores to go with me for brunch and we enjoyed everything we got but everything was quite underwhelming. A handful of our dishes came out cold or Luke warm at best and it tasted like the Mac n cheese sauce shared a base with the hollandaise sauce. Which sounds silly to complain about but when I was a bit disappointed with one, it was unfortunate that I then became quickly disappointed with the other due to their similarities. I wouldn’t ever tell anyone not to go and support this fully vegan eatery but I did have to tuck my tail a bit with my carnivore friends after this one.

3rd time here. This time the summer menu. Amazing place - Edit
I’ve been here 3 times and it’s consistently good. Last 2 times they had winter menu but this time it was still the summer fare. Very good. Had the Carrot entree. Even better than I expected. Dessert too. Yummy.

Amazing service, awesome food! - Edit
So cool to find a fine dining, all vegan restaurant! I went here for a work dinner. Our host/server/bartender, Jason, was friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. He gave us complimentary drinks and recommendations. I had the risotto (it's as good as everyone else says--citrusy, rich, and flavorful) and the bananas foster (these were still on special from the previous Creole-themed week. We also split the cheese plate--the "liver pâté" (?) was not my jam, but everything else was great! it was an awesome experience for all of my coworkers and me!

Amazing! - Edit
A wonderful dining experience. I wanted to order everything on the menu. The carrot nori rolls were delicious. The oyster mushroom tacos were sumptuous. The jack fruit crab cakes were satisfying. And the risotto was flavorful. Can’t wait to go back!

A lovely option in the Inner Harbor - Edit
Until about a year ago, if you were vegan, finding dining options in Baltimore's Inner Harbor was challenging to say the least. Then Matthew Kenny opened up two restaurants on Light Street, Liora (which is Hebrew for "light") and Double Zero. Matching its name, Liora is a bright, open space with ample seating. It is another upscale vegan restaurant with a vegetable-centric menu, a trend I really like. (Think Vedge, Fancy Radish, and Planta.) If you're looking for analogues, you won't find them here, save for an artisanal "cheese" plate, made of nut cheeses. What you will find are creative vegetable dishes, such as an eggplant banh mi or a barbacoa taco made of mushrooms. We also enjoyed a delicious dish of heirloom tomatoes with pesto and a crema sauce. The taco is one of the small bites, but I'd love to see a plate made of two barbacoa mushroom tacos and a side.
Read moreI would have liked the server who dropped off our cheese plate to explain what each of the three cheeses were. It was the one flaw in otherwise excellent service. I also would have liked a couple more crackers for spreading the cheese. Still, the porcini cheese was delicious, with a deep smokey flavor. The Manchego was not to my taste, perhaps because I'm not a fan of dill.
Liora and Double Zero share a bar and pretty much share drink menus. I ordered a Lavender-Lemon "mocktail," which I found delicious.
I get to Baltimore periodically (it's easy when you live in DC) and will go to Liora when I go.
Pros: Delicious food, Creative drinks (including mocktails)
Cons: Expensive, Inconsistent service

Just plain old awesome - Edit
This is probably one of the two or three best vegan restaurants I’ve experienced since turning vegan in September 2016. Typically, I love seitan, tofu and all that fun “fake meat” stuff. Liora doesn’t do ANY of that! So for me to rave about a “We make vegetables interesting” sorta place, you know I was truly impressed. Chef/mastermind Matthew Kenney is clearly a genius. Yes, it’s pricey, but it was worth every centavo.

Their online menu does not give prices $. But was surprised it was as expensive as I anticipated. Definitely nice meal, date vibes. Spend $100 for 5 dishes between 2 people and we had tons of leftovers.
The to-go boxes were paper which is appreciated.
Service is wonderful. Milton was our server and we had a great time. Will definitely return. #Veganuary

Finally a place for my vegan wife to enjoy. - Edit
Multiple menu options for picky vegans with a little bit of spice to enjoy. Personally I’m a meat-a-tarian so some of the imitation stuff works for me. But it’s nice to have an accessible elevated sit-down place for my wife to eat without feeling like we have to drive to DC.

One of the Best Vegan Dining Experience EVER! - Edit
Wow why do I even start with this place! I have gone twice so far both times for brunch and it left me feeling so elated from the food and the atmosphere! I have eaten at a plethora of restaurants via HappyCow but I’ve never had a experience so high-quality as I have at Liora! I was fortunate to try the hazelnut waffles which are gluten-free and honestly have to be some of the best waffles I’ve ever had in my life vegan or not! I have also had many vegan crabcakes but I have to say that Liora is top-tier! The mac & cheese as well as the potatoes and greens were out of this world and really left me wanting to give all of the chefs and stuff in the back a big hug! You will not be disappointed if you come to the aura for your dining needs

"Plant'tastic in B-more", Liora the Plant-based Vegan Restaurant - Edit
"Plant'tastic in B-more", Liora the Plant-based Vegan Restaurant located in the base floor of 414 Light Street Luxury Apartments is a cool & unique place to go. The beautiful plants that greet you at the door is the beginning of a laid back, but very professional & stylish approach to dining. The staff and management are very excited about the product their are selling. The ambiance is very chill with a touch of California and Miami. The menu is not very large but when you have a vegan menu that touches all the bases (not far from Oriole Park) you don't need to many selections. The cocktail menu is very nice. The wines by the glass a French Bordeaux and Pio Cesare Barbera D'alba were superb. The treat was the plant based "Crab Cake" that has the crab texture and seafood like flavor. This place will be a hit. It's located only minutes from the Iconic Inner Harbor and the famed "Charm'tastic Mile".

Gorgeous dining experience - Edit
Upon walking into Liora I was taken aback by its light, the high ceilings, and plethora of plants! Staff was super friendly and welcoming. The table set up was modern and fresh. I ordered the prefix menu for restaurant week. The crab cake starter, the smoked mushroom Main and the cheesecake to finish. Everything here is vegan which is awesome! My partner got the chips and dip starter and the raw lasagna Main with a side of the fingerling potatoes. Majority of the food was alllllll delicious. I have a sensitivity to salt and found the greens under my mushrooms to be very salty and same for the side potatoes, but the aioli that came with the potatoes was amazing! The bill was a bit expensive, but the chefs and staff all work very hard. The open kitchen is fun and wonderful because you can compliment to chefs at work.
