Tasty Quick Service Mediterranean

Great little place to grab a quick bite! Vegan options clearly marked and the staff know what "vegan" means... not trying to be snarky but I have been to several restaurants in northwest Indiana whose staff clearly don't actually know what it means when you ask if something is vegan lol

Solid option for the area

Glad we stopped by for dinner after a dune hike. Made the vegetarian feast vegan by switching the rice. Falafel is pretty solid, pita was a bit stale, but the veggies and sauces were well done.

Wouldn't go out of my way to return, but much better than fast food chains in the area!

Pros: Decent price, Good falafel

Cons: Limited vegan options for Mediterranean spot

Hummus heaven

One of our favorite places to dine out in the area-the hummus is delicious! Falafels are sometimes a bit dry, but overall, really love the dishes available.

Pros: Delicious Mediterranean flavors, Hummus is a must, Locally owned

Cons: Service sometimes slow

Quick Mediterranean Food

I wouldn't go out of my way for this place, but if you're traveling on I-94 this is just off the Route 49 exit and it's quick & convenient.

It's not gourmet but it gets the job done. Falafel, hummus, the usual Med fare.

Would go back..

We stopped here while visiting the dunes last week, and the food was pretty good overall. I had the falafel and lentil soup. Both were well seasoned, and the falafel was cooked well and not dry at all (as another review stated, but maybe they were overcooked that time?). The staff were not friendly however, and good customer service goes a long way. We would probably stop by next year when we head to the dunes again, or maybe skip it and try out Third Coast, their sister restaurant(that place has excellent reviews).

Veggie feast

Sat outside with our dogs. They had plenty of tables outside-some low and some high tops. They gave us cups to give our dogs water. Gluten free options were available for my husband. I had the vegetarian feast. It was a filling amount of food and tasted good! Everyone was very friendly.

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Customizable meals, Friendly staff

Decent

It'll do in a pinch but the vegan options are pretty bland...

So glad we went here!

I was so excited when on a road trip I pulled up happy cow and saw this restaurant was 2 miles away! Had great falafel sandwich loaded with veggies. All of the sauces except the yogurt one are vegan. The Smokey tahini sauce (not listed on menu) was amazing! Plan to come again!

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Tasty and filling, Friendly staff

Cons: Chips that came with it were soggy. , Not as fast as fast food

Not impressed

Despite the quick service and nice atmosphere, I will not be returning to the Lemon Tree Mediterranean Grill. The falafel were like dry hockey pucks, which the tart (but smooth) hummus nor tahini sauce could save. Additionally, our dinner for 3 was quite expensive. Bypass this haunt for its superior sister store on the other side of route 49 (Third Coast Spice Cafe) or, if you're in the mood for a falafel, go to Aladdin Pita (Merrillville) or even the Naf Naf Grill (Orland Park, Il). Both are cheaper and far better in taste.
