They have considered vegans - Edit
You don’t often see a vegan section of a menu at a curry house so I was pleasantly surprised to discover one at Le Raaj. Lovely staff who cater to your dietary requirements. You can choose from the vegan menu or they can adapt other curries into vegan dishes. Lots of the dishes are already accidentally vegan. Would recommend the Vegetable Rogan Josh, the Vegetable Balti, and the Aloo Gobi.

Pros: Vegan section within main menu, They will veganise non-vegan curries, Knowledgeable about ingredients in curries
Cons: Predominantly meat-based menu, Majority of side dishes are not vegan

Many vegan options - Edit
We’ve had take away here a number of time which has always been very good. The most recent dining experience we had was quite exquisite. We ordered from the impressive vegan menu and there was enough to take home. The tarka dhal is very special indeed.

Vegan options not great - Edit
They have a small vegan option at the back of the menu, and it has left much to be desired. The starter was literally two stems of broccoli with spices. It tasted nice but could no further thought be put in to this? And my main was a lentil soup style thing. Couldn't finish the bowl because it was tasteless.

Raaj against the Machine - Edit
Well established high-end curry house which we’ve visited a few times for sit down meals as well as takeaway. The vegan options are excellent. We once had the vegetable thali which was enjoyable and quite substantial. A visit during lockdown in 2020 for takeaway where we picked up a few items from their separate vegan menu was good but it’s restaurant dining where they excel. Our most recent visit in April 2022 was particularly memorable. We ordered Jeera Aloo (Baby potatoes tossed in ginger, garlic, chilli and cumin, Tarka Dhal (Trio of lentils tempered with ginger and garlic), Maya-Ana Special (Fried baby aubergine simmered in sweeet chilli and onion sauce), Chickmbur Khumb (mushrooms and red peppers shallow fried in chat masala and spices) and Bhindi Bhaji. Served with rice they were all extremely tasty and good value at £6.50 each. Yes you do pay a little more than most places but for a special experience it’s highly recommended.
