Quick and delicious - Edit
Usually vegan quick service spots are very reminiscent of American fast food. I was happy to find a spot that has delicious quick meals. I’m excited to try more of their menu.

Phenomenal healthy options; reasonable price for portion - Edit
Le Bontaniste was such a find - great variety of bowls to choose from. Staff are very friendly with making substitutions based on personal preference. I got a curry bowl and was able to substitute out the kimchi for any other veggie. Was around $16 for the bowl and I couldn't finish it all. Amazing vegan option in NYC!

Healthy and Fast - Edit
Le Botaniste offers delicious, healthy vegan food and is conveniently located just across the street from Bryant Park. There is a lot of indoor seating and the atmosphere feels nice and well-designed. I recommend the Pasta Bolo.

I loved the atmosphere of this place and enjoyed having so many options! I got the veggie sushi roll and omega-3 brownie, and my very non-veg had the veggie balls and the winter salad, which he enjoyed! #Veganuary

Fun concept but food was just fine - Edit
I went with some coworkers and we thought the food was just fine. I got the vegan chili which came with sour cream, which was nice. It had some lentils and quinoa in it on top of beans and soy protein which was a nice touch.

Food prepared without care? - Edit
I was happy to find a healthy option closed by Grand Central Station.
Read moreThis place does have good service and efficient. But the guy that looks like the manager looked very unhappy to be there.
I miss the aroma of tajine so I ordered the vegetable tajine. Unfortunately, there is no spice in this dish and it was bland.
I am still dreaming of the Dandy Blend Latte from Chicago Raw, so I decided to ordered a Mushroom Coffee. It tasted more like hot chocolate. Maybe more they should have use more chicory.
Other than the good services and clean bright space, I do love the taste of red beet detox. It tasted refreshing and sweet. I don't think there is any ginger in it. The establishment seems to be using spices and ingredients sparingly.
Pros: Good services, Bright space, Organic ingredients
Cons: Vegetable Tajine was bland
Le_Botaniste
Thank you for taking the time to review our restaurant! We're glad you appreciate our convenient location near Grand Central Station, our efficient service, and our bright, clean space. We're so sorry to hear that your vegetable tajine didn't meet your expectations and lacked spice. We strive to offer flavorful and satisfying dishes, and we'll definitely take your feedback into consideration.

Still a Fav, But I'll Definitely Be Eating Out Less - Edit
Now that I've adopted a completely oil-free, sugar-free and flour-free eating approach since last month, I expect it will be much more challenging to navigate even in the best of the Vegan establishments. Le Botaniste is no exception. I was dismayed to find that at least a couple of favorites here have oil included in the recipe. Nevertheless, the staff (as always) is very helpful, and assisted me in finding an appropriate and tasty hot bowl, along with a Shroom Coffee - Lion's mane, chicory, turmeric and cocoa.
Read moreHopefully, management reads this and would consider eliminating oil from at least a few of the other entrées- not a huge as and I doubt the oil would be missed by the general public anyway. Think of it as my Xmas wish! 🎄

Pros: Helpfulness of staff, Transparency of ingredients

Best place in the area! - Edit
This branch of Botaniste is across the street from the 42 Street NYC Public Library. Like the other Botaniistes, this one offers healthy, tasty food. You order at the counter, and they dish out the food and you grab a seat or get a to-go bowl to eat a the park across the street. The venue is roomy, clean, and attractive. Today, I got a pasta dish with extra falafel today; it was great--every time I eat at Botaniste, I have been satisfied.
Read moreThough the food comes fast, this is not fast food, and a bit pricier than other places in the area. The value is good, nonetheless., and nothing in the area compares.

Mediocre Food & Swarming with Gnats - Edit
I went here for a casual dinner while in NYC for a few days. Sadly it was another mediocre vegan restaurant. The Tibetan Mama was just ok - it tasted like a curry made by people who have never studied Tibetan or any Asian food. It probably would have been better if the place wasn't swarming with gnats. I spent the 10 minutes I speed ate my food swatting at them to keep them out of my dish and then ran out. It was gross. I suspect it's all the plants - some of them are probably infected.
