Delicious vegan options - Edit
The vegan okonomiyaki will stick in your head and keep you coming back time and time again. There are other vegan options but I don’t know them; you can’t go past the okonomiyaki.
Read moreThe coffee is delicious too. One of the few places that does as good decaf as caf.

Great coffee, ok toasties - Edit
We had the toasties for breakfast which were ok but there was too much bread and not enough filling in my opinion. And not enough veggies. They tasted good though. The coffee was amazing though

Read moreThe cold Lan Noodle & Miso Soup ($17) (added hash brown $3) is the perfect summer dish. Stunning presentation, not to mention the gorgeous ceramic mugs for the miso. The homemade sauce was delish!!
Great atmosphere to bring a book, laptop, date or group.

Amazing!!!!! - Edit
Staff are really nice and friendly and the food is delicious. Had the Japanese pancake vegan which was devine and a pour over coffee. Coffee was delicious also. Highly recommend if you like Japanese style food! They have plenty of other vegan options too. Love it!

cute spot - Edit
They take coffee seriously here and I’d enjoyed a few takeaways before coming back for brunch on a Sunday. They were quite busy but we had no problem getting a table for two. There were plenty of spots outside on the veranda as well but it’s not the nicest environment, on busy high street. I had sussed the menu on previous visits and was keen to try the okonomiyaki and my friend chose the lan noodles, both served with miso soup. The okonomiyaki was yummy and crisp on the outside but very thin so not very filling. The noodles on the other hand were a huge serve, topped with tasty sauce and chopped crunchy raw veggies. If I felt like a heavier (bread-ier) brunch, I would’ve gone for the Vegan Wonder, which looked big and delicious.

Great newer player - Edit
Thornbury can be a surprisingly disappointing for brunch options. Lan Coffee is one of the newer spots on High Street and brings a lot to the table.
Read moreThe menu is well-stocked with items that are either vegan or vegan option, and everything is clearly marked.
We had the potato, avo, and spinach toastie, which was very good. We also had the Vegan Wonder which is quite unique but delicious and highly recommended.
Pros: Lots of vegan options, Menu is clearly marked, Good coffee
Cons: Can be tricky to get a table
Tiggy
Sorry but I just can’t get over the -on-carb of a potato rosti in a toastie.
