very late review - Edit
I have to admit, it´s several years ago that I ate there, but i still would like to do a short a review: We were a group of 10 american and german exchange students, we had no reservations and none of the others spoke any czech. But the waiter was so great, even though he spoke neither german nor english and my czech was very bad he kept calm, smiled, did his best to understand me. He arranged some tables for us and we had really nice and decent priced lunch including fresh salads with light dressings and amazing couscous. I always wanted to go back there when my czech is better, never got better.. tak skoda :/

Great location, but food is just ok - Edit
Nice place, easy to find, great location by the river, the staff is friendly, but the quality of food needs to be improved. Some dishes from the menu weren't available. The dessert what I tried was like heaven though.

Don't miss it! - Edit
There are not many vegan options in the beautiful Czech town of Cesky Krumlov. Fortunately, there is Laibon. Owner David Heide is so welcoming (and fluent in many languages) and the food is so good that my wife and I came here for lunch and then returned several hours later for dinner. Technically the restaurant is vegetarian, but they offer many vegan dishes.

Great little spot - Edit
Just ate lunch here and loved it. Cesky Krumlov restaurants seem to be very flexible with menu items for vegans so I don’t junk it’s necessary to eat here exclusively, but it is delicious and very affordable. Easy to locate. Friendly staff. Vegan items and vegetarian options which can be veganised are all clearly labelled. I ordered guacamole to start with corn chips, a kombucha and the vegan soy steak with cranberry jam, rice and garden salad. All of it was so delicious. The steak was so yummy I polished my plate clean. Altogether this cost 399 czk which was about 25 aud. large servings too so I didn’t have room for vegan blueberry dumplings but I think I’ll head back again before we leave.

A must visit place for vegans in Český Krumlov - Edit
We visited this place while on our trip to Český Krumlov and gosh, this restaurant made the whole experience so much better! ♥ It is located right next to the river so you get an amazing view while enjoying your lunch. The food itself was great, my very first vegan meal in a restaurant! We loved it very much😄

It was amazing to find a vegetarian restaurant in such a small town! My brother and I had all our meals here. Everything was really good. The owner and staff was very friendly. The outdoor seating gives really nice views of the castle.

Vegan friendly - Edit
This restaurant gets huge brownie points for being around before vegetarian was a word in Czech! Their menu has evolved and developed over the years and although they're not fully vegan they are super friendly- the waiter remembers me and I only visit once every other year! They can adapt meals to be vegan and the river view is not to be missed.

Excellent - Edit
This place is perfect. Great location right on the river with outdoor seating, the owner guy is really lovely and friendly, and the menu has plenty of labelled vegan dishes. Great variety from richer stuff to healthy wholesome stuff that you might really appreciate after too long eating potatoes and vegan burgers. I had the macrobiotic plate which was simple but delicious - it had buckwheat, steamed and roasted veggies, smoked tofu and some delicious tempeh, with soy sauce to dress it all. Also on the menu was vegan blueberry dumplings :o although I didn’t try them...might have to go back. They have breakfast options, coffee & alcohol as well.

Not impressed - Edit
Location is great and you will find this place easily. Staff was very friendly, the guy was fast, smiley, helpful! The place was bit dark and a little untidy. My friend ordered spinach quesadilla with cheese (full of tomatoes and onions, even it was not mentioned in the menu) and I had Laibur (Bulgur with sauteed carrots, walnuts and smoked tofu) - it was ok, bit dry. Portions were not too big. We also think that the prices were a little too high for such a food, but I guess it is because od the location. Next time we will try some other place.

Great location on the river - Edit
Really loved the location, it's on the river overlooking some of the city's best sites. Service was really quick and staff was lovely. Ordered the Dahl (vegan version is served without the yoghurt) but found it a bit dry, it was accompanied with a mix of veggies that were a bit plain.

Beautiful views from the riverbank. Very friendly, helpful staff. Dragon's tongues (marinated seitan steak) were delicious! Disappointed that they didn't have non-dairy milk for drinks, but it doesn't seem all that common in Czech Republic.

Not really - Edit
I was really looking forward to visit Laibon, while stazying in Cesky Krumlov. Staff was indeed very friendly, but goulash soup, curry lentil and vegetable sabzi were in fact the same blended lentil stew, pretty bland in taste. I was expecting some more veggies, rice (not arabic bread i was given) and really sweet n sour, salty, spicy dish... and of course difference between all dishes.
Read moreI hope their cooking skills will be improved, cause place itself is really nice and of course it is an oasis for vegans.

Vegan luck - Edit
Cesky krumlov is a beautiful spot but without this restaurant we might have found it difficult to eat. We were in Cesky only two days and ate here both days. The menu clearly marks the vegan choices and the food is excellent as was the beer. The owner David was very positive, experienced and engaging. The weather was warm and we enjoyed sitting by the river. Eating at this restaurant added greatly to our time in Cesky.
