Best place for breakfast in Lima! - Edit
Came with a group of 12, only 2 of them were vegan, and everyone loved it so much! Everything is amazing :)

Fantastic Options, Authentic & Genuine - Edit
Menu alone is enough to make any Vegetarian/Vegan cry with number of delicious options. Got the sense the place was also a community given their organic food store and the homemade feel to everything. Wee bit pricy by Perú standards (~50 soles for two people), but worth it when you’re paying for vegan organic.

very good food - Edit
The dinner menu had one main meal option that covered my choices of being vegan and gluten free. The food very very tasty and nutritious and enjoyed not only by me, but also by my non vegetarian friend who came with me. I would have happily chosen that dish even if there were other options available. The sweets menu had three good choices which was nice. I would return, although while I am in Lima I aim to visit a variety of vegan cafes.

Wish I Could've Eaten More... - Edit
So many beautiful options to choose from...but with only one mouth and one belly, I was only able to try 1/20th of what I really wanted.
Read moreThe place was filled with wonderful aromas, as they were doing their baking for the next few days while I visited. Unfortunately there weren't really any desserts to choose from, as they were mostly sold out, but I did indulge in "ice cream" (which was more of a sorbet but still quite good). I had an awesome salad, fresh juice, and a giganto burger as well. My biggest regret was not having the time to go back and eat more.
Their hours are limited this summer but they will have longer hours for the Fall, so please take advantage of this awesome little place.
Pros: Wonderful service, Lots of options , Everything is 💣
Cons: A little pricey (but worth it)

Not closed! - Edit
The last review said this place is always closed.
Read moreWell, I think they may be closed at weekends, but I'm here at 2pm on a Friday, and it's open.
The food is fresh and delicious, my drink is also (El Verde), and it comes with a reusable metal straw - genius! The amount of plastic that gets used throughout Latin America (and the rest of the world) is incredible / scary / incredibly scary, so well done La Verde for this!
Not the cheapest place to eat in Lima, but worth it.
Pros: 100% vegan, No plastic, Deliciousness
Cons: Closed on weekends (I think)

One of my favorites! - Edit
The place is really cozy and nice, the staff speaks great English and all the food I had there was amazing! Loved the desserts, too, and I tried a bunch of them. They also have a store on the back which is pretty nice and sells snacks, tea, vegan yoghurt and so on. Only negative points would be for how the interior doesn't fit a lot of customers since it's pretty tiny and also the service might be real slow...

delicious and so healthy! - Edit
We loved this place. It was our first food we had in miraflores. The waitress spoke perfect English and was super helpful. My boyfriend got a burger and I got a grilled veggie wrap. Both were so fresh and delicious. We also got juice that tasted like it was freshly squeezed. It was slightly pricey, but that is the norm for miraflores.

I don't understand the hype around this place - Edit
I'm going to start with the positives. This place is in a very good location. Now that's over with, I'll move onto the negatives.
Read moreFirst of all, their prices are obscene. I understand that it's Miraflores and the rent isn't exactly low, but even compared to other small vegan businesses in the area, their prices are almost laughable. Our 3/4 of a waffle with some fruit and sauce was 27 soles, an alfajor the size of a two pound coin was 7 soles and a pot of tea 12.
And for those prices, I expect great things. I've heard and read very good reviews about this place so expectations were raised even more.
The food fell short of any and all expectations. The alfajor was minuscule and didn't resemble an actual alfajor in any way, shape or form. The tea was fine but it's pretty hard to go wrong with a pot of tea. What disappointed us most of all was the waffle.
It came in two flavour, one that tasted like bitter orange and the other vaguely resembling chocolate. It was topped with a chocolate sauce (despite being ordered with ice cream), which wasn't sweet and tasted more like coffee than chocolate and was chalky at best. On the side we got some fruit, marmalade and miel de chancaca. Again can't go wrong with those but I'm not inclined to pay that much for a pot of fruit with some jam and syrup.
Maybe the rest of the menu has better things but I won't be going back any time soon to try it out.
Pros: location
Cons: food, price

We were delighted to find this vegan cafe and bakery near our hotel in Lima.

Great! - Edit
I got the quiche of the day which came with salad and a chilled chai. It was about $13 USD I think, maybe more. The quiche was AMAZING. Granted I might not remember what real egg and cheese taste like but it was one of those experiences where you get suspicious that it has real egg and dairy because it's so good! Of course I'm not suggesting it did! Everything there is vegan. The chai was less good. It was yummy but kinda meh. I would try something else in the future.

I wish I had it back home. :) - Edit
I visited La Verde twice during my last visit to Lima. This place is run by the owners of El Almazen, a few doorsteps away.
Read moreWe had quiches, tarts and other desserts (although there is a "dessert menu", it is not so stable, so it's necessary to check what they have on that day).
Everything was delicious, specially the potato quiche and the "Ponche Andino", a drink which is actually more of a porridge which felt very nutritious. The only thing I can note is that, although I enjoyed it, the "alfajor" texture and taste was far from the traditional one.
The staff was very friendly and attentive to each of our requests; and the atmosphere was pleasant.
The cafe is rather small, but if gets packed they are willing to make some extra space for you.
Pros: everything is tasty, service, good value and good quality
Cons: none

What a lovely little cafe - Edit
My first time in Peru and I found this 100 per cent vegan cafe and store. For starters I had the mushroom spinach and onion quiche at 20 sol which is approximately 4 English pounds then chocolate ice cream with waffles. The food is excellent and well worth a visit if you're visiting miraflores Lima. The staff were very pleasant and spoke english which was a great help. The only downside is that it isn't open at the weekends.
Read morePros: Quick and polite service, 100 per cent vegan, Good vaiety of meals
Cons: Not open at weekends
