Pricey option with good food - Edit
On our search for vegan food in L’Aquila we found this spot: a fancy ristorante/pizzeria on the main road. The waitress/owner (?) did not seem too amused about our inquiry about vegan food but suggested different options that can be veganized by leaving out cheese/fish etc. In the end we had two starters (carciofi with its fried stem and pumpkin soup). The carciofi was amazing, the soup nothing special. As mains we had a lentil/pasta dish and a pizza. The pasta dish was very delicious! The pizza was without sauce (would normally be with cheese) and some vegetables. The dough was delicious but the pizza overall quite dry- I think with a tomato base it would’ve been very good as well. For the food plus two drinks we paid around 80€, so quite expensive especially for the region and for the small portion size. Decent option but room for improvement!

L'Aquila is a difficult place - Edit
I've been there a bunch of times due to the rather dire dining situation in the city. They serve fancy pizzas (for a fancy price as well) using some non-traditional ingredients or combinations of toppings. None of them are vegan, one or two vegetarian if I remember correctly. As to the other dishes, usually there's one pasta dish without meat or fish, that's it. Maybe if you call ahead they make something for you, but as a walk-in it's pretty depressing. Am giving three stars because most other places in L'Aquila are even worse.
