Really good flavors - Edit
I love la çà bar! There are so many good options, my favorite being the savory crepe with oyster mushrooms and tofu. The vermicelli noodle bowl is also a great choice.

Cute spot, subpar food - Edit
I liked the atmosphere and the server was kind, however the food was pretty bland. The spring rolls had just tofu, noodles, and lettuce which was kind of plain to me. I wish there was some cilantro or carrot in it to jazz it up or a flavorful sauce with it. Then the veggie pho had huge chunks of uncooked tofu which was kinda gross, im not the biggest fan of raw tofu but if it was cut smaller it would be more tolerable. I don't think I will return here...

Delicious! - Edit
Love the vegan pho (minus the 🍄), tofu fried rice is divine, and tofu spring rolls with peanut sauce. Nothing disappoints!

Fresh & Delicous - Edit
La Ca is the place to go if you want a fresh, delicious meal that will fill you up without weighing you down. They offer a good variety of vegan options, all clearly labeled. Can also do a Thai iced tea with coconut milk. La Ca is our go-to lunch spot during the work week and our “don’t feel like cooking, let’s pick something up” for dinner.

Yummy vegan options & friendly staff - Edit
We’re obsessed with their vermicelli as it’s always delicious and filling yet “light” and doesn’t make you feel bad after eating. Staff is always nice too.

Freshest, Tastiest Vietnamese Ever! - Edit
I can’t believe it took me so long to finally eat here. It’s my new favorite and open Sundays when many others are closed. Yay! It’s also open until 12am apart from Fr an Th when it’s open until 2am. You read that right. This place is paving the way for Tacoma’s 6th Ave to eventually rival its late night sister, Capitol Hill, in Seattle.
Read moreI’ve (so far) only had the #35- Bún Khô Chay ($10) and it was hands down, the freshest and tastiest I’ve ever had anywhere. Tofu is generally a tasteless afterthought in most restaurants. Here, the fried tofu was divine: perfectly seasoned with fried garlic; an explosion of flavor that genuinely surprised me and rocked my world. The last bite was just as tasty as the first; testament to a true gourmet experience. Loaded with flavor and lots of fresh greens, I immediately returned the next day for another #35!
Staff are really friendly and the place has great atmosphere with a nightclub feel upstairs hosting DJs and karaoke. Tacoma needs more of that clubby atmosphere (we’re sorted for breweries and bottle shops, thank you). I enjoyed the EDM they played there.
They have happy hour specials twice a day everyday including vegan fresh rolls and a small vegan pho for $6 each. There is a separate list for Vegan with the exception of one item that’s with or without egg. About 7 vegan choices including the pho.
AND, it’s opposite the Red Hot, Ice Cream Social and not far from Pizza Press and El Boracho. This is perhaps the most vegan-friendly corner of Tacoma. Taco Bell is even there...
I’m honored to add this stellar restaurant to Happy Cow and provide its first review and photos!
Pros: Super fresh and tasty!, Open later than most others and on Sunday!, Cool bar and friendly staff!
Cons: None whatsoever!
