Ok ramen, had to go get food afterwards - Edit
Maybe I'm a pig, but if I'm eating my dinner I'd like something else besides a soupy main, e.g. gyoza, however the ramen is the only thing on the menu...so we had to go get some fruit from the supermarket afterwards to fill up. The broth itself was delicious, but the noodles didn't taste dissimilar to a pot noodle if I'm honest. A few spring onions, but basically no veg in the ramen. I left feeling dissatisfied and agree with a number of reviews suggesting that this place is overhyped - shame. Also had to queue for about 30 mins.
Read moreFor really good (udon) noodles, I'd recommend Omen - I've been to the one near the Philosopher's Path, although I think there are a few more in Kyoto.

Very good ramen! Only 2 vegan options and the spicy vegan ramen option was VERY spicy, so be aware of that before ordering.

Amazing broth! - Edit
I had the normal vegan ramen, it is made by the Japanese chef in front of you who also loves to discuss in English with you. They opened 6 months ago but it is already reknowed and busy so expect a queue but the wait is worth it. Noodles are fresh and the broth is great, good choice of traditional toppings added to the ramen. Great staff, other all proud to show my friend people are working hard to put vegan options of traditional meals on their menu and it works.

nice ramen, long wait - Edit
got the zesty spicy ramen which was definitely more flavourful than other ramens i’ve had, however we had to queue for an hour and then wait another 15 mins once we were sat, for me the ramen was good but didn’t justify the wait. I think that was just a one of as the chef apologised for the wait a couple times, but i’m sure there are other great ramen places where you don’t have to wait that long, especially since there were no locals there at all.

Not the best I've had, but still very good. This place always has a line during opening and peak hours, so expect to wait about 30 mins

Overhyped - Edit
I passed by this place multiple times and theee was always a huge line. I came here one day shortly after they opened and they didn’t have a wait so I ate here. The broth has a weird taste, this was the worst vegan ramen I had on my trip to Japan. It’s not inedible, but it’s not really tasty and I wouldn’t eat here again.

Awesome - Edit
It is not easy to find a nice and tasty vegetarian ramen in Kyoto. This one I would highly recommend. However, if you are oriental vegetarian who do not consume garlic and onions/green onions. Please highlight to the chef. Make sure you go there as early as possible, where it is always long queue and the space is tremendously constraint.

Want to give it a 5! - Edit
Fantastic gluten free vegan ramen. Really loved it. Only wish there were more veggies in it, but it seems that pretty standard in Japan. Otherwise it was great having a GF option ready to go!

Creamy Miso ramen, would love to eat it again 🤍 - Edit
We’re making a world travel to different Asian countries and if we could choose we would love to eat this miso ramen soup every week. Best vegan ramen in Kyoto, also the not vegan options are nice (if I may believe my friend who took the meat option).

Good zesty ramen - Edit
I had the zesty vegan and it was very good. Most people who came in after me ordered the same thing, which makes me winder why there aren’t more ramen shops offering vegan dishes.

Best ramen I had - Edit
This ramen place was such a delight when we discovered it. The owners are friendly, the broth is decadent and velvety and overall it’s a great place on the 1F. You even get a bib to protect you clothes and I also got a hair tie when my hair was loose. Excellent service.

Amazing ramen!! - Edit
This place was great, they have two vegan ramen options, one spicy and one not. They could do with a little more vegetables but maybe that's not really a thing, the broth is delicious and so are the noodles. I liked both nonspicy and spicy, the staff is very friendly and they serve iced unsweetened tea throughout the dinner.

Great to have 2 vegan options available at this popular ramen spot. We went on a Sunday night for dinner and had about an hour wait in line as it’s a small joint. Worth it though for the taste factor.

A must do! Scrumptious! - Edit
I ordered the zesty vegan ramen, made with a soy base for the soup. I could have eaten two because it was so delicious but I didn’t need to as it was very filling. Had a sale on the side. Sat at the bar and meet a range of people and chatted with staff. There are also tables and opportunity for quiet eating. we arrived at 6:30 and don’t need to wait for a table.

Extremely delicious vegan ramen - Edit
I already came here twice within a week, just because the vegan ramen are so delicious. They have two vegan options: "Vegan zesty Ramen" and "Vegan spicy Ramen" which are both absolutely delicious. Price for a bowl would be around $9 (which is a bit more expensive than the non-vegan ramen) but in my opinion totally worth it. The staff is also super nice and you're sure to run into a lot of foreigners. Expect some waiting time after 8pm if you're more than one person.
