Worth it for the heavenly pancakes alone - Edit
The teriyaki soy chicken was fine. The mushroom stew was hearty and warm with the most delicious mushroom. We were lucky enough to get the last pancakes (a sign said they only make 20/day), and they were amazing!

Nice burger - Edit
We had two of the ripple cheese burgers and some karage chicken. All excellent. Even the burger bun was delicious, the best bun bread I have ever had I think. The food was quick; we were in the restaurant only 30 minutes in total (after being on a waiting list for about 15 minutes during which we wandered around the market).

This store delivers, not a tourist trap - Edit
I expected to be disappointed by another tourist trap among the many vegan(friendly) stores in Kyōto, but nope, I was positively surprised.
Read moreI had the "teriyaki chicken bowl", "nuts salad (with a non-onion dressing instead of the signature onion dressing)" and tried my friend's "heavenly pancakes".
The nuts salad looked overpriced and small at first but it was really well combined! The roasted almonds added a lot of flavour and depth.
The heavenly pancakes were sooo fluffy! Very Japanese :D. But as usual the taste from pancakes comes from the toppings and those were all ace. The ice cream and whipped cream especially.
Only my teriyaki chicken bowl hurts my review score as it was only ok. The "meat" was ok, the mayonnaise as well. But the guacamole was tasteless and besides three leaves of salad there was only rice in the bowl. Could have done with more vegetables.
All in all I would definitely recommend this place – but bring a bit of time as they take time to make your dishes. And wear clothes you want to wash anyway as they will smell like the kitchen smell that wafts through the restaurant.
Pros: Nuts Salad is small but tastes great, Heavenly pancakes are awesome
Cons: Teriyaki don is boring, You will smell like kitchen afterwards

Really great pancakes! - Edit
I had the heavenly Pancakes, the cheese burger. The pancakes are really recommendable! Sooo fluffy and yummie. Really good. The Burger was good, but the fries were disappointing and a few more wouldnt have hurt. They lacked salt or other spices. But the pancakes - indeed heavenly!

Good but not mind blowing - Edit
We ordered fruit pancakes a cheese burger with fries and a fruit tea.
Read moreTeh highlight for me was teh fruit tea, omg it was so fragrant and the flowers in it are edible. Eat them it just add to the experience. I would have happily bought some of this I fusion mix but it is not for sale unfortunately.
The pancakes where underwhelming but still nice to eat and accompanied with some nice fruit, which lacks in japan so is good.
The burger was good but not great, the cheese was more like a cheesy sauce the patty was good but not exceptional, fries were very nice and crunch maybe a bit of a too small portion if you order just that.
Pros: Must try fruit I fusion tea, Fruit served with pancakes, Great location adjacent to Nishiki Market
Cons: Pancakes are really not that special, Cheese in the cheeseburger is a sauce, Opening times and limit on total pancakes per day

Excellent pancakes - Edit
We came here for breakfast and went early in case they sold out. I got the heavenly pancakes (came with 2 pancakes) and my partner got the breakfast pancakes which came with 1 pancake. I really enjoyed my serving with fresh fruit and ice cream and whipped cream. They were fluffy as they described. It was a cute space too and staff were nice.

Great location, okay food - Edit
While it’s great to have an option near nishiki market (which do not have many vegan options) we found the food a bit lacklustre.
Read moreWe got the soy cutlet burger, cheese burger and karaage chicken side. The burgers were pretty good but quite $$$ and paying extra for them to come with chips only for that to entail about 7 individual fries was a bit of a let down - but these items were all tasty.
The let down was the karaage chicken which was grey from being over battered and undercooked, didn’t taste that seasoned and had raw batter still when bitten into. I have seen other reviews of them and they look a lot more cooked than our serving so we might’ve just been unlucky
We were especially excited for the pancakes - they have three different types but were completely sold out of all of them, that was disappointing but not their fault
Overall it was just ok- worth a visit if you’re looking for options in that area, but seems the quality is hit and miss and it’s a bit overpriced
Pros: Ripple cheese burger
Cons: Karaage , Pancakes sell out early , Expensive

Safe to eat - Edit
The space felt very crammed and the seating upstairs was not comfortable and extremely hot. The food selection is mostly fast food and some salad and rice. The flavor was good and the service is nice. The best was the heavenly matcha latte.

Fabulous Lunch - Edit
Stumbled across this gem whilst walking through Kyoto and was pleasantly surprised with the food. Their options were difficult to choose from as it all looked incredible, opted for a burger and some karaage chicken which were both delicious.

A must-try place in Japan! - Edit
The heavenly pancakes are worth the hype! This was our second time at this location and it was almost as good as the first. Their menu this time was slightly more limited, but we still had a lot of good food. If you're vegan traveling to Japan, you have to try this chain! They have locations in Tokyo and Kyoto.
Read moreThe soy chicken in Japan is very different than what you get in the states, so it makes for a very unique experience!
You can make reservations online, but we didn't have any and were seated immediately on Thursday right when they opened at 11:30. Conveniently located by Nishiki market.
Pros: Heavenly pancakes!, Good location

Great vegan spot in Nishiki Market - Edit
I visited twice. First time to test out the water since I heard some negative reviews, I tried their tomato based mushroom curry and matcha ice cream, the curry was too acidic to my taste, but the matcha ice cream was pretty good(slightly sweet)
Read moreWe visited the second time, tried green curry and teriyaki bowl with sides. Both tasted quite well, my wife liked vegan mayo and avocado in the teriyaki bowl.

Nice burger - Edit
Quick service, lovely staff, delicious burger, BUT for the additional 200 yen, the portion of fries was laughable, which was a shame because thats the thing that fills you the most. Left the place feeling a bit hungry still, which isn’t what you want after spending 2k.

Mouth-watering pancakes! - Edit
Went there for the pancakes and wow it did not disappoint at all! I 100% recommend it and would go again in a heartbeat~ Also, we didn’t wait long before being seated because we went when they had just opened (this was back in May 2024). They also had a poster on the wall asking where everyone was from and I thought it was cool to see vegan people from all around the world who visiting this small restaurant☺️

Fair - Edit
Food was very tasty and well-prepared, staff was friendly.
Read moreAmbiente is lacking. Seating right next to the busy, not very well-ventilated kitchen.
Worth a visit if in the area and in need of a warm meal. Wouldn't go out of my way to eat here though.
Had a set meal of teriyaki karaage and vegan katsuretto, but still left on a somewhat empty stomach.
Pros: Very tasty food, Nice dessert menu (sadly sold out)
Cons: Small portion size, Rather expensive (vegan tax?), Clothes will smell of food after

Limited options, good burgers - Edit
Menu was quite limited (“coming soon”), but the burger we got was still tasty. Wouldn’t get the karagee again, it’s just little meat dingaling, not very flavorful. Could have used a dip.

Edit:
They don’t have many non-alcoholic drinks, only apple juice, (iced) tea and (iced) coffee.
