Really cool kinda hidden spot with two vegan options and you can pay to add on extras, and things for meat eaters too which is rare and great to have both. Fun little kitchen atmosphere, chefs were lovely and food came fast and delicious! I just got the Zesty Ramen but there were soup dumplings and rice sides available.

Long wait as it’s super popular (mainly with tourists) but the food was excellent. 2 vegan ramen choices with optional add ons and a choice of vegan side dishes. And my meat eating husband was really happy with his options too.

I have eaten several vegan ramen dishes in Japan, some of them really delicious, but this one is by far the best I’ve had. I tried the Zasty Ramen, asking for it to be as mild as possible, and it was perfect. I have never tasted such a creamy and flavorful broth. Even for my boyfriend, it's the best ramen he’s tried so far (he has tasted all three versions with meat). The soup was also excellent. Unfortunately, we couldn’t try the rice because it was sold out. It costs more than other ramen, but it's totally worth it. We enjoyed it so much that we returned the following evening.

This was one of the best ramen experiences I've ever had! The ramen was incredibly delicious and is an absolute must-try. Finding vegan options in Kyoto can be challenging, as many places tend to sell out by the end of the day, but this spot is a true gem. If you're visiting Kyoto, make sure not to miss it!

We got both of the vegan ramen. Ordered the zesty one as little spicy as possible. And it had a tiny little kick, but was great for us weaklings. Both ramen and the vegan dumpling soup tasted great.

Open late they stop taking orders at 1030. We got in late into Kyoto and were so happy to find this place after going to 2 different restaurants and them being closed or not having very few vegetarian options. 3rd times the charm. The vegan food was so delicious. They have vegan dumplings as well, my partner did not want to try them but I ordered them anyway. He loved them.

We ate very well here, two vegetarians and a non-pork eater. The ramen was creative, flavourful, and filling. Definitely recommend the zesty ramen and add some chilli gin if you like spice and flavour!! Staff were lovely and service was good. Wasn't busy at 4 pm on a Monday afternoon. My only complaint was the music was a little loud. Would definitely be back.

This is probably the best ramen I’ve been had in my life. I ordered the Kyoto Beaning Vegan Ramen. The soup was so thick, rich and delicious, I’ve never had anything like it before.

Excellent vegan ramen, so so yummy!! They have two vegan options plus some veggie soup dumplings, English menu, friendly staff. I got the vegan zesty ramen, it was very creamy and spicy and delicious! They’re wavy noodles were also super tasty. I’ve never been a big fan of ramen, but this place changed my mind! They also give you free iced tea with your meal which was really good. We sat upstairs and there were USB plugs along the bar which was super appreciated to charge our phones after a long day of touring Kyoto. My favorite place I ate at in Kyoto!

Read moreThere were only 2 vegan ramen options on the menu and we tried them both. I had a zesty vegan ramen and it was delicious. The broth is thick and creamy and has an almost cheesy flavour. There was a little bit of chilli heat in there that built up slowly but it wasn't particularly hot. I wouldn't say it was particularly zesty though. It was topped with lots of green onions and various other vegetables. These were all fine and a bit of different texture and taste but there was nothing too exciting on there.
My partner had the beaning vegan ramen and the broth was very similar. The fried buckwheat topping gave a good toasty flavour and crunchy texture. She enjoyed the mushrooms on top but would have preferred more of them. It was tasty but overall she found it all a bit too rich for her liking.
Overall, we enjoyed our meal but it doesn't hit so high on our all time ramen rankings anymore.

We came here late at night and have one heck of a terrific meal. Lots of foreigners here, I suspect because they offer gluten free options as well as meeting other dietary restrictions. Their spicy ramen options (we tried all 4) are 100% terrific -- hearty and rich. Also try their soup dumplings. So good! And if you're in the mood for it, their Japanese whiskey offerings are surprisingly excellent (and I'm saying this as a Kentucky bourbon lover).
