Read moreThere are 2 vegan ramens: "Bean-ing Vegan Ramen" and "Zesty Vegan".
Bean-ing has a creamy soy-milk based broth while Zesty is a bit lighter and definitely more on the brighter, spicy side. Apples and oranges in terms of comparing them, both are incredible.
Staff was friendly and accommodating. You order from the ticket machine and hand your order to the lovely waitress / hostess. The chefs themselves brought out our ramen which was a such a nice touch. Couldn't say enough about how delicious it was. Still wish I could go back!

Best ramens i ever had! We went there twice during our stay in Kyoto. I tried the 2 vegan ramen options, both was absoluty delicious! We also tried the vegan goyza, amazing.

Ramen restaurant where you order at a machine at the door then sit down. Amazing staff, super nice restaurant, great beer and sake! The vegan “beaning” ramen was so so good and the large size was perfect! Loved this experience!

Amazing vegan ramen - Edit
I had the zesty vegan ramen, and it should be noted that by "zesty", they mean "hot enough to burn your insides" - I had to pick out most of the chillis before eating it! But it was so, so tasty - the soup has a soya cream base, so it's really rich and satisfying. You can also choose gluten-free noodles, and the lovely staff member who served us made a point of checking that we didn't have any allergies before taking our order to the kitchen, so people with food allergies/sensitivities can feel very reassured here.

Engine Rahmen is a lovely little restaurant with authentic food and very friendly staff. The veggie Rahmen was fantastic and so tasty. All the food was cooked fresh to order and delivered promptly.

I had the zesty version of this vegan ramen which has a thick soup and sancho (locally famous pepper) spice to it. The plain version is equally good. This is the best vegan ramen I’ve had in any country and for me is better than Ippudo London. The vegan dumplings are also nice for dipping in the sauce. This is definitely a hearty meal. Easy ordering through English vending machine. Insert your money, choose your options, get your tickets & change. Ice tea & water complimentary. Beer & sake also available.

The food is fantastic, the menu is in English, the staff friendly... but I could be sitting in any English speaking country. So if you want great food with vegan and vegetarian options this place is perfect, but if you want a Japanese atmosphere this isn’t the place.

When we walked in, waitress was very friendly and told us they had vegan options and gave us a menu to have a look. Orders are made via vending machine and you give the ticket to the staff. Vegan is clearly marked. Had a bean based ramen and it was very tasty. Nice and affordable.
