Tasty Thai in a small storefront location - Edit
So looking for a vegan-option place near my friend's place in Chula Vista, Krua Thai popped up. After we agreed on the location, he checked it out because it didn't look like much on Google Street View. It's a small spot with maybe 6 tables, mostly two-tops, but a few four-tops. Looks like they do mostly a takeout business.
Read moreWe dined in and, although it was a little warm due to the heat wave, and there were some flies because the door was open for ventilation, the food was great! I had questions about what was vegan on the menu and was informed that almost everything could be made vegan. They even had vegan/vegetarian versions of sauces to ensure compliance.
We started with an order of the Summer Roll Tofu, which consisted of two rolls, cut in half, for a total of four pieces. The sauces accompanying were very tasty. One was a peanut sauce and the other I believe was a tamarind with peanuts. Everything in the roll tasted fresh, and the tofu was slightly crispy. Yum!
Friends had non-vegan dishes, but I ordered the Pad Woon Sen w/Mock Duck. I was told the Mock Duck is actually made from some bean product, which was fine. It actually looked like duck, with the skin, etc. The dish was tasty and was large enough that I took half as leftovers.
I would definitely come back to this place, or maybe their other location in North Park. Tasty food, lots of vegan options and large portions. Can't go wrong!

Vegan options abound! - Edit
Their online menu is clearly labeled with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options! They may not be necessarily vegan but things that can be made vegan are labeled. For example, today I ordered tofu pad thai (I requested no egg and for it to be made vegan), drunken noodles (no egg), and tofu summer roll for takeout. Food was outstanding! The restaurant itself is super tiny, maybe 4 tables but the people there were super friendly and accommodating. Definitely will be ordering takeout from here again!
