Best and friendliest community kitchen

I absolutely love this place! I try to attend every Tuesday - and I have done so for more than two years. Tuesday has become my favorite day.

The volunteers cook incredible food, which is inspired from all over the world and the atmosphere is always warm and cosy.

Super friendly vegan folkekøkken

Community kitchen where volunteers cook wholesome vegan dishes from all around the world. The food is cheap, tasty and you often can take seconds when everyone has had their first portion. The atmosphere is very friendly, welcoming and international, and it's easy to get started talking to new people. Tickets should be bought beforehand through a link on their Facebook page.

Delicious food for a low price

The kitchen always serves delicious food and they often cooperate with food providers of vegan oriented products, such as tempeh, seitan etc. A very cosy atmosphere with always welcoming volunteers :)

Pros: Different dish every week offering a huge variety

Cons: Nothing

This is a volunteering community project that brings people of all classes together to enjoy a meal at an affordable price. I wish we had more of such around the world.

No one gets paid there to cook they given their valuable time for free. It's not at all a gourmet restaurant. A 2 star rating is quite unfair. It should be rated of the standard of a Folkekøkken not a restaurant. It deserves at least 3 stars.

I volunteered at 3 Folkekøkken before. I urge you to volunteer to gain a better understanding and appreciation. You can also contribute to improve.

Also please consider providing the restaurants direct feedback for an opportunity to improve before placing low ratings on Vegan establishments.

Nice place to chill with friends on a Tuesday evening, the food is decent and quite creative for a folkekøkken :-)

Cheap food every Tuesday

The meal served changes from week to week. Make sure to RSVP on Facebook (noone is checking), because they are making food for approx. the amount that RSVP'ed. The food is serves at 6 pm, and I suggest you come around 5.30 if you want to make sure to get food as well as to not stand in line for an hour.

Pros: All vegan, Cheap food

Cheap and Delicious vegan food!

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Copenhagen. For only 20kr (less than 3€) you'll get a big plate with delicious food. There is different food every week, usually a main dish with salad and sometimes also desert.

The place is non-profit and run by volunteers. Good atmosphere and always a lot of people. Its a good idea to come early, otherwise you run the risk that they are out of food by the time you are there.

Pros: cheap, great atmosphere

Fantastic food, great people, good vibe

KRAFTWERKET'S PEOPLE'S KITCHEN serves delicious vegan food usually every Tuesday. A plate usually costs 20 kr. The first Tuesday of the month a dessert is offered with the same price. The other Tuesdays, they have snacks on the tables that varies. It is possible to buy drinks (beer / soda) and it costs 8 kr. Tap water is free of course - together with a little table with bread and spice "butter". They also have a small vegan store where you can buy a few essential items for your kitchen at home. Prices found in the kitchen. It takes about 5 minutes to walk from Valby station and here.

This kitchen is run by volunteers and when there is a lack of volunteers at times they are unable to run the Kitchen. It is best to check their Facebook page on an update of the next Folkekøkken. They usually create a Facebook event for it.

The are inside has seating for about 40 people and outside for about 30 people. Every Tuesday the Kitchen would run on a theme and serve food associated with it, thus they make various types of cultural dishes and everyone eats the same food.

This Kitchen brings together people without being hard on the pocket. It is more of a social gathering where people can enjoy fantastic food and social with friends. They start sharply at 18:00. So if you want to make sure to get a place to sit and get food, best to come a bit earlier.

They always need volunteers in the kitchen, so if you can offer assistance then please do contact them. Volunteers off course get free food.

Pros: Vegan Food different every week, Cheap

Cons: Venue gets packed quickly
