Community dinner on sundays with booking

http://onebowl.dk/
Booking via Facebook

"One Bowl has recently decided to scale down the restaurant initiative to weekend community dinners. The challenges of running a restaurant has kept us from focusing on our mission addressing food insecurity, loneliness through values of love, trust and generosity.
As of 1 September 2022, One Bowl is open on Sundays, between 17:00 – 20:00. Kitchen closes at 19:00."

Warm welcome and delicious food.

Feels like a dinner with friends when you walk in!

The option to sit alone or join a table is a lovely touch so everyone is comfortable, there was a music station where you could put on music if you wanted to.
The food was prepared to such a high standard which makes it incredible that it is pay what you can or feel.
It's lovely to be able to go out and eat a healthy and delicious meal when you wouldn't usually be able to afford to.
It also feels great to pay extra when you are able to so someone else can enjoy the experience too.
Thank you to all the volunteers who make it possible! ♥️

Pros: DIY events board at the entrance , Friendly and warm atmosphere , Strong flavours and high quality ingredients

Cons: A little bit hard to find the location on maps

Lovely restaurant with lovely people

We really enjoyed our dinner at One Bowl. The staff/volunteers were amazingly friendly, we got our food really quickly and it was tasty. I really like the concept of a vegan pay as you feel restaurant and will definitely come again😄

One bowl has a great atmosphere, lots of hygge and delicious, all vegan food! We especially love Burrito Tuesdays and the concept of volunteer chefs on weekends, where the menu is always changing.

Unique vegan community restaurant

Great place to visit more then one time, every month there is something new to try in menu. I love the concept of this community place, based on donations. Always vegan, fresh home made food. Volunteers are friendly and welcoming, it is good place even to visit with bigger group of friends, you can bring your own drinks such as beer or wine. One Bowl is also offering catering. And off course you need to try their traditional South Indian brunch on Sundays- unique and delicious!

Perfect food

This place is perfect. I've been here numerous times and the food is so good! I love that it's donation-based, because then I know I can get a healthy, hearty dinner when I haven't got any money at the end of the month, and I can pay more when I have money and help someone else who doesn't have the money.

Pros: Friendly staff, down-to-earth vibe

Great place

18 April 2019:
This has now become a regular pay as you feel and non profit cafe. I enjoyed a lovely meal of gnocchi with a delicious pesto and roasted vegetables. I thought the portion served was slightly small but they were happy to give more. They just don't want people wasting. So glad that they are now 100% vegan.

I volunteered here and helped chop the vegetables. The day they had a 100% Vegan menu which was fantastic.

To volunteer you need to register. They have 2 slots.

I help chop the aubergine, bell peppers, garlic, potatoea and onions

Our menu for the day was
Broccoli and cachew nut salad
Chickpea vegetable curry
Roasted potatoes
Brinjal Bajja
White rice.

Food shall be served between 18:30 and 21:00. Cost is by donate as you feel.

About 50 or so people attended. While we were serving the smiles and anticipation of the guests was fantastic.

I definitely recommend this place. I shall volunteer again. Community kitchen is a wonderful concept and food we pay for is affordable. Not driven by profits.

Pros: Vegan, Friendly, Pay as you feel

I dont understand why you say how good it is and give them only 4 stars, im guessing its for having meat, can see that on a lot of your reviews, you know they have meat so you dont put them down for that. You are reviewing how good the food is not if you like meat or not. I find it strange as this place sounds very good.

Hello,

Beachman the review was written 2 years ago. My ratings are not exclusively based on food. It's based on ethics, feel, comfort and treatment from staff. Any business who serves meat or dairy automatically looses a star rating. This is it in my personal lines and in line with HappyCow standards too. Also if you have been to this place please add your own review.

DavideFrazzetto it's great to see they have finally gone vegan. Please update the listing and add a review of you have been there. I no longer live on Denmark.

No review of my gets updated unless I have had another visit there. Please understand my review is 2 years old! Please add a review of you have been there.

Thanks.

They are now fully vegan. I have been volunteering there for almost one year and they have been serving only vegan dishes as they want to include everyone. So, I can vouch that services have changed for better in the past year.

Amazing food and concept

All vegan place with an all-you-can-eat and pay-as-you-feel concept. Meaning if you’re broke you pay a little and if you have more you pay more. Such an amazing concept of trust. On top of that the food is amazing. Menu changes from day to day - check out their Facebook page to see what they’re serving.

Affordable meal and socializing

The food was amazing and the best part is socializing with others and sharing the thoughts, a very unlike of other conventional restaurants. Moreover, they don't have a fixed price for a meal but the price is based on "Pay as you feel" concept. So, without worrying about our budget, we can enjoy the meal and pay what we can afford. It is a unique and amazing concept for a vegan-based buffet restaurant.

Highly recommended!

Cozy vegan kitchen in Copenhagen

I found out about One Bowl online and I went to check it out. It’s a community restaurant with a pay as you feel way of working. This means that they offer buffet food, you eat together with the other customers and you can repay them by donations. The place is super cozy, the food is vegan and different every day, and you can even volunteer with them in the restaurant! Unique place in Copenhagen, far from the pretentiousness of the usual cafes and restaurants. Totally recommended!

Pros: Friendly people, Lots of food

Cons: Dining area needs improvement, Not so many seats

Plant Based food with a side of social change!

I been to One Bowl in their new location a few times, The food is wonderful and unique each time. You have the since of someone secret family recipes, and new dishes I never tried before, like last time it was mid-Indian cuisine, the the fun part of it being a community restaurant means you can chat with the chef and learn how it was made.

I love that its 100% plant based and that its extremely affordable, and the little extra I gave goes to helping others try plant based food, or helping those who might be lonely. A great night out with my friends!

Pros: Food was wonderful, The price, Feeling like you make a difference

Cons: Limited seating
