Good for a quick bite

Want to come back and try some other things; had the mixed wrap and baklava and while both were fine, wasn’t blown away by either item. Right next to Addison st markets, so hard to know if it is worth it over all the other options in the area. The seating area is nicely decorated.

Disappointing

Normally I love to support a vegan buisniss but this was not nice the Koshari is sour does not compare to Cairo which is amazing. I am not a fan sadly.

Truly Awful

Despite being very hungry and not having eaten before a long walk and brunch at this place with anticipation, I would have left my meal had it not cost almost $20. If ‘moussaka’ is a small dish coated with deep-fried slices of eggplant topped with tinned diced tomatoes fried with salt and dehydrated garlic, I’m a carnivorous straight man. Could have made this at home for a dollar, but never would.

The owner, who was surly and didn’t seem to want to be there, told me they had no tap water, only bottled water for sale. At my shocked expression, a glass of tap water was provided with the sub-standard fare.

The whole enterprise operates out of a caravan, so it’s clearly not the overheads creating such a dire situation.

Cons: Terrible food evidently made by non-veg*s, Super expensive for what it is, Surly rude service

Lucky for you. Ours were unbelievably shabby

I think your criticism of this place is unwarranted. Egyptian / Arabic / Middle Eastern moussaka is not the same as Greek moussaka. Yes it contains eggplant and tomato, but it’s quite different and has no bechamel or cheese. Your photo shows the dish is made in the Egyptian style, and looks delicious. I wouldn’t be particularly pleasant with you either if I’d served you that beautiful dish and you chucked a tanty over it because you’re ignorant about this type of cuisine. Sometimes Middle Eastern moussaka can even be served cold… Keep an open mind or research the cuisine from countries you’re not familiar with when trying new places, and you’ll be much less disappointed in future.

Wow presumptuous much? Who threw a tanty? Perhaps you should keep an open mind about the fact that not everyone enjoys bland tasteless overpriced food.

Wow

I had the most amazing dining experience!
I loved it here. I tried their falafel wrap at the Sydney vegan market and went back to try another dish. I had the mixed plate - which I highly recommend.
You get to try various different options: some salad, Aubergine with toasted almonds, the most delicious falafel with bread and Tahini and Koshari. I have been to Egypt before and the food here is authentic! Super welcoming and friendly
Plus their coffee is great as well
Look at the interior - it’s so pretty, doesn’t feel like a food truck 😀
Can’t wait to go again

Pros: Vegan delicious food! , Falafel - must order, Great coffee as well

Took me back to the streets of Cairo

I’ve been craving Koshari since I first tried it in Cairo and along with many locals became one of my staple go-to meals while in town.
The Koshari from Koshari Korner took me back to the streets of Cairo. A delicious and hearty meal of rice, pasta, lentils chickpeas in a tomato spicy sauce.
Yum! #Veganuary

Great falafel

First time trying koshari - light and tasty! However it was the falafel that impressed me. So fresh and fluffy with a crispy outside. Will be back to try their shakshuka and pretty much everything else. Sweet outdoor dining area too! The oat latte was disappointing, I'll suggest they switch brands if possible.

Pros: Fully vegan food menu, Best falafel in the inner west, Friendly staff

Koshari Korner

Came across this Egyptian Food stall at 901 Bourke Street many other vegan stalls. Wanted to try Arabic food.
They had 4 dishes on offer $12.00 a wrap sold out at 8pm. The other three dishes $13.00 each served in takeaway cups different fillings with falafel. One had no tahini dressing, another no tomatoes was offered a salsa. My partner bought a pair of vegan shoes $135.00. So bit dissappointed we didn't eat.
Came across Koshari at Marrickville Markets. Had a Koshari Bowl very nice had 2 falafel extra and a smoothie $23.00. Seems this place Koshari is home. If u are in Addison Road try their vegan food.

Incredible

Followed this place on Instagram for a while and finally made the trip here and man we were not let down. The felafal is some of the best I’ve ever had, the eggplant and koshari are mouthwatering and the sambousek is heavenly. The owner gave us free baklava afterwards and it was also amazing. And, to top it off, they have really good coffee too. I don’t leave many reviews but I was so impressed. Will def be back. Only thing stopping me from giving 5 is the carton of dairy milk beside the coffee machine

Pros: Fresh felafal, Great coffee, Friendly staff

Cons: Still sell dairy milk :(, Single use coffee cups, no mugs

Sadly Sells Dairy Milk -- not "100% Vegan"

I passed this food truck by accident and saw a sign reading 100% Vegan on their delivery van. So, just to be safe-- as because of my religious beliefs I have taken an oath and promise to reject financing businesses that participate in animal abuse: http://www.liberationpledge.com/ -- I asked the owner before making a purchase "Is everything vegan?" to which he answered, "Yes."

So, I ordered the Lentil soup and baklava, which were outstanding, absolutely delicious and vowed to return. On my second visit, I ordered the sampler plate which came with salad and beautiful pink turnip mouneh and fresh crispy Egyptian style falafels with green faba inside. Again, amazing tastes. On my third visit, I spent nearly my entire monthly restaurant budget on falafel wraps, vegan shakshouka and baklavas for myself and friends. It was a heartwarming thrill to support a 100% Vegan business.

On my fourth visit, after paying for six more baklava I noticed something on the counter after the owner poured from it, an opaque white liquid into a coffee cup. It was a jug of Dairy Milk. Was I hallucinating? I checked the label, "Dairy Milk" and took a photo.

It's really lame feeling lied to when the result is a violation of my religious beliefs and my oath to respect and defend all human and non-human life whenever it is presented as a choice, regardless of convenience or profit. Please change the math in your advertisement to be more factual or remove the vegan label, or much more simply, stop selling dairy milk for coffee.

Looking forward to the announcement that Koshari Korner has become a vegan business! I have great hope and faith this change will come soon!

Amazing koshari

I've only eaten from the food truck as part of the markets, there were plenty of people tucking into the food. Considering how busy they were, there wasn't long to wait. The food tasted great and was beautifully presented. I can't wait to return another time. I've never tried it on a non-market day.

Pros: Delicious and quick food, Friendly staff, Cute seating area

Cons: Can bet busy on market days

Perfect snuck-a-lunch option

Look for the Egyptian Street Food banner. This entirely vegan food truck serves one of the best falafels only less than 3 minutes away from Marrickville Food Market.

I had their falafel platter (served in a bowl hehe) and lil baklava for a quick lunch. The falafel platter comes with salad and sauce which complement the balls nicely.

Baklava was not sickly sweet which made it super enjoyable, even light enough for a second serve.

The crew was friendly and patient. And the regulars/locals seem to be close with them, you will feel very welcomed and satisfied.

Though the number of seats are limited (especially if youre a group of more than 6), it is easily redeemable as the close proximity to the market means you can just enjoy your meal while browsing through the market.

Next time, I want to try their namesake meal: koshari platter.

Pros: Location, quite a range of food selection

Cons: Limited seatings for big group of people

Hearty, tasty and more-ish

I’m already thinking about my next visit to Koshari Korner! This is a great stop for a bite as it is within the spacious Addison Road Community Centre. The food is top notch delicious and satisfying. The flavours and spices are uniquely delightful and went down a treat with a coffee and baklava. Yum!
