Amazing Food - Edit
Really tasty, inspiring food! Tried the special ‘Ribbed for your pleasure’ sandwich and the ‘Double double’ burger. Really loved their seitan. The fries and waffle fries were also so good, especially the waffle ones.

Vegan junk food galore 🤤 - Edit
I’ve been here multiple times and always had good experiences. Great for vegan junk food in a bar setting, they changed the menu coming into the new year which keeps things interesting.
Read moreThe food is reasonably priced but I find the drinks are a bit expensive, I don’t think that has anything to do with knaves but worth noting.

Burgers in a bar - Edit
Sticky nightclub bar with 100% vegan junk food (a seitan beef burger, seitan chicken plate, deep fried pizza or hotdog option). Staff were friendly and helpful (rectified problem with my overcooked burger).
Read moreFood is okay.... not quite up to standard of some of the incredible seitan- based vegan eateries springing up everywhere now.
Very heavy greasy meal, dirty sticky tables, and our clothes smelt greasy afterwards. Fine for a junk food dive bar like this, although it’s pricey for what it is.
Pros: Nice staff, Chicken seitan was tasty, Good music
Cons: Expensive, Smelly & greasy environment

Delicious & original, will definitely come back - Edit
It was more than I expected in quantity but everything was very tasty, if not fatty, for obvious reasons.

The loaded fries are amazing - Edit
Had the OBB, the chicken wrap and loaded fries. All was really tasty. Definitely recommend. Previously been here when they did the vegan Big Mac and that was amazing!! My only comment is why use disposable trays and cutlery? Yes it’s compostable but still unnecessary.

Great central location - Edit
I visited with my non-vegan friend for s girly/boozy lunch and was really pleased to see a full vegan menu.
Read moreI chose the Mill Hill kebab, slaw and fries. They were all perfectly fine and tasted good but nothing earth shattering. With all the vegan options out there now I really think the food could of been better.
I personally don’t enjoy being sat in a proper bar and eating out of paper tubs. I understand the concept at festival’s, fairs etc but not when I’m set in a full bar in a city centre. However, if this is a way of ‘making it fit’ to get vegan catering into a mainstream bar then I get some would chose to do it.
I won’t be in a rush to go back.
My non-vegan friend thoroughly enjoyed their good and was really interested to see what options where available.
Pros: All vegan menu, Central location
Cons: Eating out of paper tubs? , Not the greatest vegan food

Good but wouldn’t visit again - Edit
The food was fairly good but it just doesn’t live up to some of the other great vegan junk food going around. The taste was good but the chicken in the CFC wrap was quite sparse and the buffalo seitan bites were hard.
Read moreAlso still feels like a bar in the day, smells of alcohol and sweat so it doesn’t create the nicest eating environment.

Not as good as expected - Edit
It’s great that bars and venues are using all vegan caterers but that diesn’t Mean the food is great.
Read moreWe had two different meals and a side from a very short menu list. None of the options were great. They were ok but the porto slaw was rubbish. All the portions were on the small side.
The staff were friendly .

Good, tasty food - Edit
Love the food here, tasty 'junk' food without being too greasy. I usually have the katsu curry or the satay with a side of fries or wedges and slaw - yummy and filling! Service is quick, staff are friendly, and I like the bar it is attached to too.

Vegan kebab A++++ - Edit
Leeds has needed a vegan place like this for years. Really simple, good junk food style menu. Got the kebab and it was amazing 👌🏻 Filled with super tasty seitan, and covered in hot sauce. Having Vegan mayo on the table made me happy. Specials change pretty often. The kitchen is inside a bar, so get a beer and a kebab. Definitely definitely worth a visit.

Decent - Edit
I had the Mill Hill seitan, which was in a pitta with salad and hummus; really tasty. My partner had the tofu katsu curry which came with rice which was really good. We also ordered a side of fries was a small-ish portion. The place wasn't busy (we were there early) but there was a band sound checking so it wasn't quiet. {Visited on a Sunday evening in May 2018}

Symbiosis - Edit
A pop-up vegan kitchen piggybacking the premises of a great Leeds bar on the bustling Call Lane. Absolutely genius. We started with a couple of halves of German pilsener to take stock of things before getting stuck into one of the finest vegan junk food menus known to humanity. The small but impressive vegan kitchen itself is located in the room next to the main bar. Food and drink orders can be made at the bar for ease of coordination. We had the “Mill Hill”special consisting of grilled seitan, hummus, pickles and chilli sauce in a pitta bread (£6.50) and the seitan fish finger wrap (£5.50) with a side of hand cut wedges (£2.95). Sauces and condiments are readily available. I would unreservedly recommend the sriracha mayo. Everything was excellent and it was good to see a healthy flow of people coming in for drinks then ordering food from the vegan kitchen. This is quite simply a remarkable concept.

Fantastic - Edit
This is such a cool place. It's so much more than just a pop up food place. The bar in which it is located is nice and relaxed and the bar and Knaves Kitchen work in seamless partnership. On the day we were lucky enough to visit the staff were super friendly and informative about which drinks were vegan including the rose wine. The food was sensational, I savoured every mouthful and loved the whole experience. Its a fantastic idea and it appears to be very popular, the bar area was full when we visited and every customer ordered from the fantastic food menu.
