Sub par

I really wanted to like this place. I tried the tofu and avocado baos and it really wasn’t even good enough to go back to try again. The tater tots were also pretty mushy. Overall disappointment, but I appreciate them having vegan options!

So good! Plenty of vegan options

Every bun I have had has been amazing- they have a lot of vegan options now and you can sub tofu for anything and leave off any sauces with dairy to create your own. Highly recommended

Best Buns we’ve ever had!!!

We’d definitely give 5 stars if the Happy Cow platform allowed it. This was a revelation!! The food is absolutely incredible and so delicious! The textures of the vegan bao buns was perfection (make sure you ask for the vegan buns as the regular ones have milk), so moist and soft, the flavour combination of the toppings was so on point. We also had the truffle tots which aren’t in the photo but were just as amazing! Zack greeted us with such good vibes and guided us through the menu and our whole experience since it was our first time there. High class customer service, best review possible and so accommodating for us vegans. We’ll be back for sure! We love you guys, thank you so much! 😃💛😋

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Astounding customer service, Super fresh and delicious

Delicious Vegan Bao

We stumbled upon this place and walked in not knowing what to expect. Luckily there were 2 bomb vegan bao buns available for us!!
We ordered:
VEGANVILLE- Crispy Tofu a shallot, ginger and pepper relish topped with scallions and sesame seeds.
BAJA AVOCADO- Panko fried avocado topped with vegan habanero mango aioli, mango relish and cilantro.
We both LOVED our 2 choices, I think my favorite was the Baja Avocado and my husband's favorite was the Veganville. Honestly they are both excellent choices so just try them both 😁 It definitely seems like a culinary fusion, but in a way that works-- very creative! They are affordable, tasty, and definitely a delightful experience for your tastebuds!
I definitely want to try those vegan bacon tots next time!

Pros: Creative and very flavorful, fresh eats!

just… wow!

i came with a mixed group of omnis and vegans and everyone tried some of the vegan baos and everyone loved them. the actual buns themselves are SOOO spongey and absolutely delicious. my favorite vegan bun was one of the specials- the baja avocado. like seriously, so good. also each bun is ~$3.50 allowing you to really customize your order and stay within any price range

A good open if you're nearby

They only have a couple of vegan options, but I did enjoy them. The tots were a little too much for me but I liked the bao.

Vegan Bao

The vegan bao was delicious but there was only 2 vegan options. One of the vegan options, the avocado bao, was a special so it’s not a permanent menu item. In my opinion, the avocado bao needs to be on the menu always! The truffle tots were a little disappointing, there was nothing “truffle” about them as far as the taste, although it does say they’re made with truffle oil. This is definitely a good place to visit with non-veg friends because there’s something for everyone.

Some vegan options

The style inside this place is cool. They only have 2 baos that are vegan (crispy tofu and avocado) I ordered the tofu one and wasn’t impressed with the flavor. It didn’t have much inside. The tater tots with soy bacon sounded good but I didn’t try. Next door is also a boba tea place that has vegan options for tea (they have almond milk) so maybe worth the trip to try out both places haha

Pros: Boba tea place next door , Cool atmosphere

Cons: A few vegan options

Vegan Bao

One vegan Bao option on regular menu and one on daily specials. There is also a vegan tater tot option. All good!

Pros: Couple vegan options

Cons: Street parking, may be some in back.

Offers vegan bao buns

Love King Bao. They only have 2-3 veg-friendly options, but the baos can be customized further if you ask. I like the fried avocado with the vegan habanero sauce and their truffle tots. They have vegan bao buns as well.

Pros: CHEAP $$ and Tasty

Cons: Only 2-3 veg-friendly options

Vegan

I showed up thinking there was only one Vegan Bao and I ended up having 3 options. One of their speciality items, sadly not a regular item, was the bao with fried avocado with a mango salsa and it was my favorite. I hope it becomes a regular item. The other two vegan options were good but not crave worthy

Pros: Vegan options, Clean, Friendly

Cons: Not enough vegan options, Small space

Fun place

I was so excited to see a vegan Bao on the menu. Too bad it was just ok nothing super special. However, their vegan tots with tofu bacon was so good. I would probably order two of those next time and skip the Bao or ask if they can sub tofu for a different Bao flavor.

Quick treats

Fun little place for a quick bite. They have a vegan Bao on their regular menu, and often have a vegan choice on the Daily Specials board.
Remember, Bao's are much smaller than tacos. You'll probably want at least two.

Pros: Quick, Tasty, Good cultural glimpse

Cons: Traffic and parking can be tricky, Tight quarters for sitting
