Visit before they close@ end of March '23! - Edit
Amazing place and unfortunately they are closing at the end of March 2023, so check it out before they close! Apparently they're hoping to come back in some form in the future, but no specifics shared yet on that.

Nice interior, staff and food ok - Edit
The coffee place and restaurant is very nice. I love the area upstairs, where you get to overlook everything
Read moreThey have 10% off the first Wednesday a month. You order at the counter. Unfortunately you aren’t allowed to sit where you want with your laptop. Only at high tables with uncomfortable seating without a back leaning. No charging options as well. Free wifi. The service could be a bit more on point and clean the table after someone was leaving also when the cafe is nearly empty to go to every guest who’s at the laptop to change seats isn’t nice. Food was good but nothing special. It seemed more prepared and then heated up…
Coffee is below average

The owner was loudly spouting off transphobic and anti-vax nonsense on the business’ Instagram. I feel extremely uncomfortable that I ever ate at this place.

Delicious, Friendly Staff, Well Priced - Edit
First place I’ve eaten at in Vancouver! Had the buffalo tofu sandwich. Staff were super friendly and helpful, love the vibe and minimal-waste morals. Food came out really quickly despite how busy it was, and the food was fantastic! Also not overly expensive, did not feel like I was being over charged for the “novelty” of a lot of plant-based restaurants.

Cons: bathrooms are upstairs (possible mobility issue)

Great vegan cafe - Edit
All vegan with a focus on waste reduction which I loved. Had the Buffalo Tofu Sandwich on house-made focaccia and it was delicious and reasonably priced for a big sandwich

Stopped over for a quick bite, as this is quite central and located in a busy spot - I had the Kale Caesar salad and picked up a kombucha to go with it.

Amazing! - Edit
I was expecting fast style food but Kind cafe is so much more! The food is unique, great salads, ceviche and more. What’s best is their commitment to waste-free dining. That’s going the extra mile and I value it deeply. The dining room is two-levels, very well designed and a lot of sexy vegans eat here. #Veganuary

Great food and drink menu, also a Happy Hour menu - Edit
Spacious restaurant, with seating on two floors, as well as outdoors. Smoothies, bowls, flatbreads, sandwiches, wraps, bagels, soup, salads, lattes, desserts. Cold drinks include three local beers on tap. Happy Hour menu 3-6 pm. Zero-waste, so cloth napkins, metal cutlery, etc. They sell many of their ingredients as grocery items, including aquafaba mayo, dips, dressings, tempeh bacon bits, granola, gluten-free bagels and more - https://www.kindcafe.ca/grocery-menu.
Read moreOn my first visit, I had a side of potato salad and the tempeh Reuben sandwich, with a quinoa fudge bar to take away. All good. The potato salad uses unpeeled potatoes and whole-grain mustard. The Reuben is on toasted house-made focaccia - really good.

Perfect - Edit
We were in Vancouver for the day and looked for a place nearby on Happy Cow and found the Kind Cafe.
Read moreI ordered their special wrap and while very simple, was extremely tasty and unique with beet hummus and pickled or roasted veg.
Their savory onion rosemary scone was delicious, with a touch of sweetness and the turtle bar was divine.
They have a large varied menu which is so nice, and vegan take aways like sauces and pickled items, as well as vegan apparel.
I love too that they are zero waste! A bit of an issue if you are traveling (medical reasons) during the pandemic when you are used to being told your travel coffee mug isn't accepted but that is okay. If you are local or nearby, they have a container deposit program for take away if you forgot your container.
Highly recommend.
Pros: Fully vegan, Tasty and huge variety , Zero waste
