So disappointed with how this business operates. I had liked a couple items on the menu (though others were meh) and liked that they were low-waste but the owner, a woman named Samantha, started posting COVID denier “unpopular opinion” Instagram stories in early 2021 that said stuff like “covid is overrated”, “vaccines don’t work”, etc and questioned whether trans women deserve to be in the Olympics.

I believe trans women are women and that a vegan cafe has no business weighing in on CONTROVERSIAL topics like the validity of some peoples existence, when they could just shut up. These stories were convenient sandwiched between stuff like “French fries are not that good”. She gave non-apologies each time she was called out saying they were community submitted. 🙄 Even if I believed that, she still has a responsibility as a business owner to moderate what she posts. Shutting up costs zero dollars but she couldn’t resist. Now we know Kind Cafe is not such a kind place to disabled, elderly, and immune-comprised folks wanting healthy food and safety in this pandemic. I won’t be dining here again and I am wary of the other vegan businesses I see that still support this place.

Really a shame this place sucks so much but not every vegan business is owned by an ethical vegan. Some are orthorexic woo plantbased dieters who believe conspiracies and this business appears to be one of those.

I’d give it 1 star but HappyCow won’t let me.
