Great little place - Edit
We had walked past in the morning and the owner had been so friendly so had to go for lunch. Lovely tasty food unfortunately the owner wasn’t there when we went so service was polite but not quite as welcoming but the food makes up for it all

Family kitchen - Edit
Small family run kitchen, mom is cooking, teenage kids are helping around. Traditional authentic Lao dishes as well as a few western choices. Food was outstanding in taste, generous size portions and very inexpensive. Highly recommend #Veganuary

Great place, tasty food - Edit
Stumbled upon this all vegan place and was not disappointed. Had the pad Thai and it was delicious, probably the best food I've had in Laos. The owner was also very friendly and has a great ethos/mission about bringing veganism to Laos. Cheap and tasty, don't skip this place, it's only a 5 min walk from the centre.

Underwhelmed - Edit
We we’re excited to go to Kapphet but we were a bit underwhelmed. The staff didn’t seem to notice that we were there and they forgot our drink (they were also understocked which we thought was a bit sad actually). The larb sandwhich was decent but nothing to write home about. The noodle soup was fine but not very filling.
Read moreThe staff was eventually very nice but I guess there was just a language barrier and they do what they can.

Good food - Edit
Nice restaurant with delicious food. A great opportunity to try the Laotian dish Laab as a vegan variant. The owner also forwarded us a PDF explaining in different languages (more than 100) which foods are avoided in veganism.

A great find - Edit
Good food, friendly owner, and reasonable prices, what more can one ask for? Any chance to try a veg version of a traditional meat dish is worth taking and the vegan larp was delicious. Of course, I can’t compare it to the meat version but I would happily return to this spot.

I got a Larp Sandwich to try, which took very long to be prepared. I enjoyed it but was nothing special. The prices are okay.

Ok food but poor service - Edit
I asked for the mushroom dish but somehow the owner, unfortunately, convinced me to have tofu and veggies instead. The meal, which took ages to arrive, was ok but too salty and the herbal tea was tasteless. After paying, I'd walked about 10 metres down the street when a woman ran after me and said she owned the restaurant and I must pay. So, I had to go back to the restaurant with her and find the guy I'd paid to convince her I wasn't doing a runner. Also, earlier in the day I'd popped in to check out what sort of beer they had. Via Google Translate, I established with the staff that they didn't sell beer but I could bring my own. However, in the evening I was told I couldn't drink my beer. Overall, a really disappointing experience.

Tip top - Edit
We had the Tom Yum and the Pad Thai. Both were great! The Pad Thai was a bit on the small side but the Tom Yum portion was huge. Wish I could come back and try more of their dishes.

Veganism for world peace - Edit
We ate her twice and enjoyed the food. It took a while for them to make the food, although they were quicker on the second occasion (less complex food and less customers). The owners are vegan and he got chatting to us about his vegan journey, veganism in Laos and his ambitions to spread the vegan message and how he thinks it will bring about world peace. Loved it!

Tasty tasty TASTY - Edit
We tried the suki, fried vegetables with tofu and rice, and larp.
Read moreThe larp and suki especially was incredibly flavourful and made us come back again and again.
Prices are cheap and the smoothie are delicious, with nothing but fruit in it.
Everything is made from scratch so just don't come when starving - worth waiting for though!
The male is very nice and chatty - The women excellent and hardworking.
Only downside would be the single-use-chopsticks.
Pros: Taste, All vegan, Price
Cons: Waiting time
