Oh my lord, I've been waiting for this place my whole life. Positively the best vegan food I've had since a random vegan place we found in France in 2019. If you're vegan, veggie, omni or a full on carnivore this place is 100% worth a try. The tastiest of tasty foods. Can’t fault this place! Everything from the welcome, the decor, the food, drinks and staff were perfect. The food is super fresh, tasty and also feels healthy too. The owners and the other staff are the most friendly and welcoming people. The mocktails were incredible too, not just the usual too-sweet fruit juice concoctions. Can’t wait to go back!

Non vegan (don’t hate me ) coming In to any restaurant with friends who are level 7 vegans can be quite daunting but Kanu poke and the whole team were incredible, having an open kitchen was so fun to see, everyone worked fantastic with each other the chief came over and explained the menu absolutely beautifully so much passion in what he’s serving,

Had an amazing time at Kanu Poke! This is a very unique restaurant with such warm colourful vibes and incredible fusion food that is delicious and surprising. A great place to take your friends and family for a meal, to impress your date with a tasty cocktail, or to grab a delicious poke bowl on your lunch break. They are also ahead of the game for being environmentally friendly so an extra plus. Can't recommend enough for vegans and non-vegans alike. Kid friendly too

Read moreI don’t usually write reviews but everything I tried was so delicious, the flavours were intense and balanced, and also very interesting. As a vegan I love to find different places, and for sure Kanu Poke is unique. I went with non-vegans who also absolutely loved it! And apparently they’re also gluten and nut free!
I very much recommend the waffles with ice cream and the delicious cocktails too, yum!
The place was also colourful and fun (check out the octopus!), the staff was very nice and we felt very well taken care of.
Can’t wait to go back up to Shrewsbury to try the rest of the menu.

Really tasty food and an amazing space full of colours and great music too. I had tofu satay, which is cleverly made with sunflower seeds so nut free. For pudding I had a bubble waffle with cherry blossom tea infused ice cream and a caramel sauce. It was all delicious! Good value, oh and excellent cocktails and a selection of locally made kombucha. I had pineapple and jalapeno which was very good.

There are a lot of options for food in Shrewsbury and Kanu Poke is a fine addition. For starters I had the tofu sate, which was very delicious and I highly recommend it. I treated myself for the waffle with green tea ice cream for dessert which was very good. I would highly recommend anyone to go here!

Ideally located in central Shrewsbury.
Cocktails are original and has a good range of mocktails too!
A must for vegans/plant based eaters and I challenge any meat eaters to not be wowed by the food.

We visited Kanu Poké on their opening day. It was awesome to see a hawaiian themed restaurant in town with tasteful food and brilliant staff who were welcoming and friendly. Totally recommended anyone who loves tasty food and a great atmosphere!

Kanu poke is definitely worth a visit. With a refreshingly original menu, new tropical flavours have been introduced to me. The restaurant itself is a masterpiece and you can see the artistic efforts that have gone into the wild funky art and octopus centrepiece!

I ate here for dinner recently and the food was so tasty! The restaurant itself is beautiful with fantastic artwork on the walls. It had such a great vibe and everybody was really friendly. I had a starter, main and dessert and all three were delicious! I had a cocktail too which was SO good! I plan on going back very soon to work my way through the menu! Highly recommend!

The vegan options in Shrewsbury are fairly limited currently, particularly for vegan desserts and for going out in the evening. I had a fantastic experience at kanu poke. As a recently turned vegan I found this restaurant to be better than many of the restaurants serving meat in Shrewsbury. The service and food were faultless. I cannot recommend it enough. The haupia is outstanding.

What a fantastic new restaurant! My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Kanu Poke. A warm, buzzing and beauuuutifully decorated environment! Staff were so friendly and informative. We were impressed by the array of unusual cocktails and made out way through quite a few. Our meals were OUT OF THIS WORLD. The purple sweet potato soup and chick-kanu were our favourites. Special mention to the cherry blossom green tea ice cream! What a delight! Will definitely be returning in the near future to sample to other drinks and dishes. Thank you SO much!

Friendly faces and a menu that’s suitable for any diet. It’s as unique as it is delicious! The vibe of the place, decorated to perfection, also makes it a great place to just relax with a drink in (they do cocktails, mocktails, and Kombucha!). The smile on the face of a celiac friend of mine when she saw how accessible the menu was said it all. Kanu Poke is a great experience, will definitely be back!
