We were a little disappointed no dogs allowed especially as the restaurant was completely empty. Something about position of the kitchen? Anyway very friendly guy served us with takeaway poke bowls coffee and cookies all delicious. Everything is made in house from scratch using TVP for the mock meats. Highly recommend

Nice and friendly with a great vibe and decor. I think they also do take away. Centrally located. Great list of desserts although I was too full to face one. Next time.

Amazing place! The food is stunning and really inventive. It's so nice to have some really different and interesting options! The mock chicken on the bubble waffles is the most realistic mock meat I think I've ever had- absolutely amazing! Don't miss this!

I had a wonderful salad bowl but the star for me was the three different homemade ice creams with miso caramel sauce. Each one was so different and you could taste the individual ingredients.

I’ve followed these guys on Facebook for ages, but they’re an hour away so couldn’t really justify the drive just for food. Happened to be working in the area Friday so I had to get some food and it was truly amazing, so fresh and flavoursome, I am already desperate to go back!

Absolutely LOVE this place! I had lunch there for the first time yesterday with a college friend - amazing poke bowl - delicious fresh ginger sauce - lovely variety of veg - and very flexible when I didn't want the pineapple. Pleeeeese open a branch in Worcester!

Every single time they knock it out the park with flavours I'd have never put together or even heard of. George obviously does a lot of research and sources things from all over the world. The only thing nicer than the food and drinks is George himself what a lovely bloke.

Read moreWe came here as they offer a take away menu (dogs not allowed). They had various option and a meal deal for a tenner - poke bowl, drink and cookie.
Poke bowl was fresh and filling, homemade lemonade definitely hit the spot on a hot day and a soft chewy cookie to finish.
Because I’m greedy/intrigued I also had the mochi doughnut balls with a miso caramel dip.
Highly recommend this place.

This is a really interesting and refreshing menu with lots of unusual flavour profiles and combos which is always exciting. I've been several times now with friends and we've always enjoyed what we've had. It's not a big place so I'd recommend booking ahead, but the staff are super friendly and is a fab addition to Shrewsbury's food scene.

Gorgeous gluten free vegan food! - Edit
We were delighted to get food from here - sadly not dog friendly and we were travelling back from a festival with our rescue pup, but they do take out, so we were able to sit by the river to enjoy our food. Meal deal is a good idea and the chewy black sesame cookie is like a brownie! Yum! I had a tofu and coconut curry and my daughter had a poke bowl. Hope to return next time we are in Shrewsbury.

The food was very special. Lots of interesting flavours and textures. Good to look at too. The decor is very colourful and also interesting to look at and the music sounded good with lots of genuine rock/reggae/world music classics. Unfortunately the food took too long to arrive despite it being very quiet. We were eventually told that there was a problem with the induction hob, but we remember a long wait on our first visit last year, too. The quality of the food was almost worth it. The reason I don't give the highest rating is solely because of the waiting time.

If you're in Shrewsbury, vegan or not, you really must visit Kanu Poké. It really is unbelievably good Pacific Fusion food, the staff are always so friendly and welcoming and the decor and ambience are second to none. It's a carnival for the senses, in the best possible way. I can heartily recommend the Cow Kanu Skewers, the Forbidden Poké Bowl and the Bubble Waffle with Drunken Monkey ice-cream, but everything I have tried has been delicious, so do yourself a favour and go pay them a visit.

Having been visiting the team at Kanu Poke regularly since they opened, we have tried and tested most of the menu which I can say doesn’t not have a bad item on it. The ingredients are greasy and selected with care for each dish to really bring out the flavour. The creative specials always make for a good choice…. And the jerky to start is that best. To the point where I’ve asked if I can have 3 months works just for home! #Veganuary
