Disappointing - Edit
Although Kandy has a good range of marked vegan choices on it's menu, sadly, we can't give a recommendation based on our experience. Our waiter was friendly and helpful, but the restaurant is tired and grubby. Items on the vegan sharing platter we had as a starter were dry and over cooked. My partner had the vegan delight dhal for a main dish and described it as the most salty meal she had ever eatern. I had the Kandy vegan special, which was ok, but nothing special.

Cons: Dishes were poorly prepared, Poor cleanliness and condition of restaurant

Kandy - Edit
Sadly I was not able to go on the day they have the vegan night so this review is just for a regular night.
Read moreThere are quite a few vegan options, all reasonably priced. I had the jackfruit jaffna dosa which was delicious but I would recommend getting some rice or something with it as I was still a little hungry afterwards.
The restaurant was also a little cold too, I went in late November and there was definitely a chill in there. Probably nicer in summer though.
Can't fault the staff, they were attentive and friendly, they even opened up for us on a day they would normally be closed as we were going for a party and there were a lot of us
I'd come again
Pros: Very vegan friendly, Helpful and obliging staff
Cons: Restaurant was a little cold, Not all vegan

Vegan all you can eat buffet. - Edit
I loved the vegan options. The vegetable fritters were amazing and so was the lentil Dahl and jackfruit. Could have more deserts that don’t just taste like coconut.

Excellent place, delicious food - Edit
I had a great experience here! It’s very vegan/gluten friendly which is the reason I went. The owner of the restaurant was incredibly helpful, and she knew exactly what was vegan / gluten free. When she brought the food over, she explained exactly what was in it to help put my mind at ease.

Vegan all you can eat buffet every month - Edit
The vegan buffet night was so good. Took a non vegan pal who loved it and wants to go back. Lots of choices and all were delicious. Not your standard takeaway food, way superior, delicately spiced and nicely presented. Friendly service. Desserts were amazing. I have already booked for next month.

Vegan night is 😍😍😍 - Edit
Go to the vegan night! Look on their website - think it’s the last Wednesday of every month. Seriously amazing food. Took my non vegan family and they didn’t even notice it was vegan night just thought it was a Sri Lankan buffet. Would go back for sure.

Fab food, friendly service - Edit
Kandy's a small Sri Lankan restaurant on Macclesfield's high street.
Read moreNot a fancy restaurant (who can afford such places??!), but clean and welcoming, with reliably tasty food provided by people who clearly care about what they do.
Staff are very helpful and knowledgeable about vegan diets.
A vegan buffet is served on the last Wednesday of each month, and the place is always packed for that.
The food is good, the portions are not to be sniffed at, and the prices are very reasonable.
Sadly definitely not wheelchair accessible, with no evidence of accessibility for the visually impaired, and I have no idea whether the staff have ASL, though there's clearly no induction loop. I suspect staff would do their utmost to accommodate people with disabilities, though they've been very understanding about my chronic illness leading to several cancellations, so I get the impression they're keen to support customers with special needs.
Pros: Wide range of well labelled vegan options, Friendly staff, knowledgeable about vegan food, Family run, clean, intimate
Cons: Not wheelchair accessible, Not accessible for visually impaired

Wonderful - Edit
Although the restaurant itself was a quite empty, and the menu quite difficult to decipher, Kandy served incredibly delicious food. A lot of the menu can be made vegan, and they have some vegan/vegetarian specials. Everything was cooked to perfection, presented beautifully and tasted so good.
