Exceptional falafel

The restaurant has moved to Corona. They have clearly marked vegan options and the woman at the shop when we were there was knowledgeable of vegan diet. Food was excellent! I had the vegetarian plate with stuffed grape leaves, falafel, and tabouleh. It comes with pita, hummus and babaganoush.

Pros: Well marked vegan options, Delicious authentic middle eastern food

Features a Diverse & Delicious Array of Mediterranean Main Courses & Sides

Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food holds a special place in my heart as not only the food I was raised on but also as one of the most effortlessly vegan friendly cuisines in the world. However, while there is a hefty variety of pre-existing cruelty-free options from this part of the world, few restaurants take advantage of this fact and fail to introduce many of these dishes to the standard American. And this is where Kabab El Basha comes in. Kabab El Basha, which is specifically Egyptian influence, is one of the first Mediterranean places I've been to in the IE that offers more than just your standard hummus/falafel combo (not that I don't love these). In addition to those two items, it also offers options ranging from spinach pie, a vegan moussaka, Mohammara, Potato Maza (which has my heart), and so much more all clearly labeled as vegan so that there is no confusion. In fact, there are so many vegan options on this menu that there are actually a few that are vegan but missing the label (I have double checked to be sure).

I will admit that the food is a tad more expensive than some similar restaurants in the area and the wait time can be a little long sometimes, but the food is well worth it and while you are waiting, I highly recommend browsing their store which features all kinds of goodies from that region. For me personally, none of this is an issue as it is one of the only places to find genuine flavors and unique dishes that are otherwise hard to find, and all while being expertly prepared and packed full of quality veggies and hand-selected spices. One of my favorites in Riverside and easily gets all four of my stars.

Pros: Wide selection of vegan options, Features dishes that are harder to find, Quality ingredients that can be bought in store

Cons: Wait time can be long at times
