Cute place

Cute place with ok service. They had vegan oat Pancakes so that’s a big plus, but it was hard to understand if the food really was vegan and not vegetarian. Also really expensive for DR! I have never payed over 1000 pesos for a breakfast before..

Pros: Vegan options , Good food , Smoothies

Cons: Expensive, No air conditioner , Not that many options

Approach with cuation

- I came here because "the" vegan place in town AmaLuna (which I would love to try) is inconveniently temporary closed, and JOY Nutritional Popsicle seemed to be the next best option.
- Vegetarian options on the menu, staff explained verbally they could easily be made vegan.
- The waiter served me the wrong burger which was someone else's chicken burger, and when I approached him to explain he took it back and said they would prepare me a new burger.
After a reasonable amount of time they served me the vegan lentil burger.
- The cheese had that too-good-to-be-true melted shine about it, and I asked if it was vegan. The waiter asked the chef, and they talked at length for about the types of cheeses they have. I asked them again simply if yes or no it was vegan, and they insisted that yes it was.
- When I went to eat it however, I noticed it had a bite out of it from who they had originally served it to, and had presumably just left it sitting in the kitchen for several minutes while saying they would prepare another. Even outside the context of COVID this is pretty gross.
- The staff then offered to prepare me some scrambled eggs for the inconvenience. This really throws into doubt their claim that their cheese is vegan for obviously reasons. So please even if they serve you the correct food and nobody else has put their face on it, beware.
- There are multiple signs advertising a 15% discount when you pay in cash. When paying however they explained that this "doesn't count", because they were already discounting me the burger? Which someone else had taken a bite out of?
- I don't really want to give one star, as they do offer explicitly vegetarian options on the menu. However the service is poor, the menu misleading, and the hygiene unacceptable.

Pros: Vegetarian options on the menu, Cute spot

Cons: Poor service, Unacceptable hygiene, Falsa advertising
