Great pizza! - Edit
We had the Margherita pizza with vegan cheese and added pineapple and olives as toppings. The dough was great, the portion size is just right and the service was very quick (10-15mins) considering the pizzas are woodfired.

Great Vegan Pizza, GF options too! - Edit
Pizzas were easily made vegan with a switch to vegan cheese at no extra cost, with a couple of veganizable options on the menu. All pizzas can also be made gluten free on request. Staff were really helpful and the food and drinks were great.

Vegan gluten free options! - Edit
Lovely place, worth booking! Went with two of my kids and they made their own pizzas, base comes to the table with whichever toppings the kids choose. Can draw on the table cloths which then get recycled. Had a great time!

Just ok - Edit
Great they have vegan and gluten free options but it is very limited. The service was abysmal (took over an hour to get our order), and it turns out they can only cook one pizza at a time (which is crazy for the size of the restaurant). Vegan cheese melted nicely but was the kind that sticks to your teeth. Was OK. Asked for mushrooms but was told they were cooked in butter. Which at least is reassuring that they know, but equally disappointing they can't find a way to cook mushrooms without butter.

Tried the fajita bean pizza and it was incredible. Vegan cheese was available. Other options available if preferred. Service was great. Would definitely go back if visiting the area again.

Ate here 11th of August 2022 and had a very nice meal. Asked them if they could make today's special vegan and they just told me what was gonna change and fixed it. Service was fairly speedy and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Tasty pizza but lacking in so many areas - Edit
Visited Johnny Doughs yesterday and it was my first time at one of the restaurants. It was a very mixed experience.
Read moreI think whilst they do vegan options e.g vegan cheese and a range of toppings, some set vegan pizzas like they offer at Pizza Express would make it better. It almost feels like you are limited to a margherita pizza and a few random toppings of your choice. Nothing that is well thought out or special. I ordered mushroom on my pizza and was told I couldn’t have them because they are cooked in butter. Come on, chop a few extra mushrooms and fry them off in a bit of olive oil. That would be good customer service.
The service was very slow and it was very clear they were prioritising take away orders before seated customers which is a bit of a backwards way of doing things. Toilets were a bit grim and staff smoking in view of the customers. Not very professional.
The pizza was tasty enough but already had a sour taste in my mouth at this point. Only merits 2 stars.
Pros: Vegan cheese
Cons: Not a huge range of plant based toppings, Unprofessional service in parts, Slowwwwww

Good Vegan Pizza but Slow Service - Edit
Great wood fired vegan pizza but...
Read moreNo meat substitutes, not many options for sides and the mushrooms are cooked in butter so couldn't get those on pizza. 4 pizzas took an hour and the last 1 was another 15 minutes. Kitchen roll instead of napkins was a bit odd. Toilets were a mess and staff were smoking outside with the door open so the toilets stank of cigarette smoke which was unpleasant.
Pros: Tasty wood fired pizza
Cons: Slow service - over an hour, Staff smoking round back with door open , Mushrooms cooked in butter

Good pizza. More toppings such as artichoke hearts and mock meats would be good.

Good pizza - Edit
Well cooked pizza. As with all pizza, easy to make veggie options by changing toppings although have the option of vegan cheese which is good. Great choice if you are in Conwy and fancy a pizza but not sure I'd make a special trip.

4 stars, nice staff, good pizza - Edit
I had a gluten free base which was a little smaller than the other pizzas. They unfortunately had a busy weekend so had ran out of a lot of toppings! I would have liked to have caramelised onion but, alas I went for red onion instead.

We visited Conwy for a buggy walk to Deganwy & lunch in Bluebell only to find it was not open 😔. A further search of Happy Cow indicated this was a good alternative- it was 😀. We had 2 tasty take out pizzas with vegan cheese that melted. The dough was great.

Beware: meat found on vegan pizza 🙊 - Edit
Had high hopes for Johnny Dough's...
Read moreUnfortunately, we were a bit put off from the start by the scraps of food that had not been cleared off the floors under many of the tables. Just made it feel a bit grotty.
The pizza menu was good and it's great they offer vegan cheese, but no sides were listed on the menu and we weren't offered any even though I saw some people with corn on the cobs after we had ordered. No idea what other sides are on offer, if any. Bit weird.
Pizzas were lovely though. I had vegan five bean chilli (not listed on menu (again...), but i asked as I'd seen it on the Llandudno menu) and my daughter had vegan margherita with pineapple. We also had a meat eater with us and he noticed straight away that there were a couple bits of ham on his pizza that should not have included ham. My daughter then noticed a bit of ham on her vegan pizza when she had nearly finished it...UGH. I think they are using the same utensils to put all of the toppings on the pizzas hence the cross contamination on two of the pizzas. I mentioned the ham found on the vegan pizza to the waitress and all I got was a quick apology and that she'd let the kitchen know. Really not good enough. Not only can vegans not be confident that their pizza is genuinely vegan, but there are serious implications for any allergy sufferers.
I can't speak for the other branches of Johnny Dough's as it's probably down to staff and management of this particular branch that let it down, but it was very worrying and I will be emailing a complaint to HQ.
Pros: Lovely tasting pizzas
Cons: You can't trust your pizza is vegan!, Doesn't feel very clean., Menu doesn't list everything available.

Great original pizzas - Edit
Love the pizza here. They have vegan cheese and a variety of toppings . My favourite is the 5 bean pizza with guacamole. Delicious. Staff are friendly and helpful and it’s good value for money . They will make vegan garlic bread and corn on the cob as a side if you want it too .

Nice Pizza, lack of sides - Edit
The vegan pizza at Johnny Dough's is fab, and the service is brill, but it's a shame there aren't many sides and the portion sizes are small. The salad options were tiny and a bit lacklustre (limp leaves, not much thought put into it). Maybe they should offer a few different pizza sizes, and side dishes like chips, wedges, vegan garlic bread etc, not to mention improving the quality of the salad. Probably wouldn't go there again until the menu improves.

Was great to be able to go out for vegan pizza with my veggie husband and omni teens. Options were limited for a vegan but I think you can also have your own choice of toppings. The vegan cheese was good and I preferred it to the one they use in Pizza Express. The service was friendly and efficient.

We ordered the beetroot pesto and margherita pizzas. They forgot to add the rocket and basil. Come on, man! There’s not much to a margherita pizza. Vegan cheese was good enough to warrant going back.
