Delicious and affordable chinese food

So happy I discovered this gem! They have a huge menu of various chinese dishes, all vegetarian, lots of options with mock meat. The menu has pictures too so you can just point at what you want (tip-the portions are way bigger than they look on the photos!). I came there three times during my stay but wish I could try everything on the menu!
My favorite dish was the vegetarian three-cup chicken which came on a sizzling plate. It was very flavorful and peppery and I liked the addition of basil. I also really enjoyed the vegetarian meatballs with cabbage, they had a great texture and the sauce was full of umami. However I wasn't a fan of the mapo tofu, but it's not the place's fault, i just ordered it without really knowing what the dish is like 😅
The staff is really nice, food arrives quickly and is affordable-I paid between 40 and 70 cny for a main dish with rice (and the portions are massive here!)
They also gave me some of their mooncakes to try which was very nice!

Pros: Large menu, Very big portions, Quick service

RESTAURANT HAS MOVED NEARBY TO TIAN FENG LI SHOPPING MALL

Restaurant has moved and is now in the Tian Feng Li shopping mall, food Court on the 6th floor. It's on Hepingli Xijeu Road, I block north of the Hepingli Beiji subway Station (Line 5). Easy to find.
Good food at a reasonable price. We were there twice in a week. There weren't many customers. Since I can't read or speak Chinese we pointed at the pictures on the menu. The staff were friendly and helpful. The tofu fish was excellent. They also sell their home-made sweets to take away. The shopping mall closes at 8pm.

Lovely hidden gem

Nice local restaurant with really good food. I came there twice while I was in Beijing and also bought take-away a few times. The food is really good and the portions are big too! Especially be careful if you order soup, as you might end up with way more than you could possibly eat. I did get the left overs to take home the second time with no problem though (didn’t order soup but I think that would be possible too). The staff also kindly told us that maybe we were ordering a bit too much food and warned me that I was about to buy a 1 1/2 litre soda - so be careful with that too!

The biggest “complaint” I have is that the restaurant is a bit difficult to find. It’s located inside a residential area and you have to kinda go all the way to the back and then look around a bit for the sign and entrance. I highly recommend familiarising yourself with the front door that someone kindly posted a picture of! And don’t give up, the place is worth the treasure hunt!

I do wish the staff would have said something to the customer, that came up and started taking pictures of me and my friends without our consent, but otherwise they were very friendly. We found it a bit awkward, when we wanted to pay and leave and the staff were sitting at another table and eating, but honestly that’s probably on us, since it’s just a cultural difference that I don’t want to disturb them while they eat but in China you need to speak up if you need something.

Both times I went there the place was almost empty and pretty quiet. The decor is nothing super exciting but overall the place is nice enough. For some it might be a dealbreaker that the place has a tiny indoor pond kinda thing with live fish in it.

Pros: Lots of delicious vegan dishes, Big portions, Easy to navigate menu with pictures

Cons: Hard to find, Not the best location

Awesome food

This place is awesome, friendly staff-the lady taking my order found another staff who spoke English to tell me I've probably ordered too much and that portions are bigger than on menu photos.. I had noodles with assorted veggies-it was a huge bowl of fresh noodles with 5 different types of mushrooms, goji berries and ginger. Dumplings were big too.
The place is actually easy to find with Google maps, the coordinates are exact so just follow the directions.

Pros: Huge choice, Huge portions , Value for money

Cons: Bit too salty

So Good SO GOOD

Very easy to find due to the giant green sign outside (see pictures) and staff very nice - although they did have to step in to stop us from ordering the whole menu! Went with two meat eaters and they were very happy too (especially with the "lamb" shashlik)! Would really recommend - in particular I loved the range of mushrooms available, and would go back again purely for the gluten and black fungus dish. Very sad not to be able to come here every day.

Pros: Prices very reasonable , Nice bathrooms , Very large selection of veggies

Cons: Meat eater sad they do not serve alcohol

Cheap and tasty

The restaurant was really hard to find. We had to ask a local to explain us how to get there. Luckily we finally managed to find this place.
The restaurant is not too busy as it was almost empty when we came for lunch. The menu was massive and had a picture of every dish which was very convenient. The food was delicious (however slightly too oily) and really cheap. It was the cheapest restaurant of all the ones we visited in China. Staff was nice and helpful. I will definitely visit again when I'm in Beijing!

Pros: Very cheap, tasty

Cons: Really hard to find

the best

I travel a lot, but am often too lazy to review restaurants. I went to this one twice last year and was super excited to go back today. It didn't disappoint me in the least. After trying it again I would have to say this is the best Chinese veggie restaurant I've ever been to. The food is incredible (the sweet and sour "fish", drool). They servers speak no English but are super sweet and patient. The menu is all photos and the food that comes looks even better then the pictures. The portions are big. I cannot recommend enough going here, even for non vegetarians. Location is a little tricky to find, so make sure the blue dot on your gps is working ;)
