Excellent falafel pita

We shared a wrap and a falafel plate. Both v good. And the actual pita itself was exceptional. The very busy cook was friendly.

Fresh and delicious food

The owner of the restaurant was extremely friendly and accommodating of any requests that were made. The food that was served was very rustic and very freshly prepared. We had the pita sandwich and the falafel platter. Would definitely recommend eating here.

No longer on the dock!

He’s moved but he’s just as good! Lots of people come in after getting their groceries at the market to get hummus to go. I got the falafel and it didn’t disappoint. Owner speaks Spanish, English and French and that’s just the languages I heard while I had lunch.

Pros: Vegan owner, Clearly marked menus

Great hummus!

This tiny place made some of the best hummus I’ve ever had. The falafel sandwich was great as well. They do serve meat but are more than happy to accommodate vegans. The owner was friendly and kind. I will go back!

Pros: Best hummus ever. , Great falafel, Friendly service

Great Spot

If you like Falafel and Hummus then you will enjoy. All items are Vegan minus meat, owner is Vegan so that helps when ordering. Lots of flavour, will return.

Pros: Lots of Flavour, Fair prices

Cons: Needs Vegan Meat alternatives other than Falafel.

Falafel deserves 5 stars

If you’re like me and have lived in New York for many years, you may associate shawarmas with late-night drunk food. This was one of the reasons why I hesitated to visit this place at first, despite it being highly recommended as one of the best restaurants in PV for vegans.

Being a vegan myself, I ordered the falafel sandwich and watched Sammy, the owner, cook everything from scratch in his one-person kitchen. To be honest, my expectations were low because all the falafel I’ve had in the U.S. have been bland and dry, but was I blown away by this one. Sammy’s falafel sandwich is a warm, hearty, comforting meal packed with flavor. The falafel is moist and well-seasoned, the garlic sauce and hummus do well to bring out the flavors of the falafel, and the warm pita wraps everything together like a hug.

I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Sammy as a person. We talked all about his passion for getting people healthy. Having not had the most healthy lifestyle when he was younger, Sammy is very conscious about food and nutrition. He does marathon trainings on the side and uses the menu as a way to play around with food to see what types of food can help sustain one’s energy without any spikes or crashes. This is food that not only tastes delicious and keeps you feeling full but also gives you enough energy for the whole day. My favorite thing about Sammy’s food is that it does not create gut inflammation, which means I can eat here every day without any digestive problems, and believe it or not, that is hard to find here.

One of the things I love about this place is that you can see all the spices he uses on the wall behind the counter, which makes the food feel so much homier. This is the what a home-cooked meal tastes like. As a health-conscious person myself, I prefer to eat foods like this more than foods that get marketed as “healthy” such as smoothie bowls and salads because these traditional recipes carry the wisdoms of people who understood how to heal the body with food and only food.

Pros: Healthy, Delicious, Traditional

The beat falafel!

I got a falafel plate and it was amazing! I also had a great chat with alon about veganism. They do have a few tables to sit at and eat.

Simply delicious

We found this place on Happy Cow... we ordered 3 falafel pitas ... they were crispy, fresh hot and delicious . The owner is also a nice guy .
Too bad we found it on our last day here in PV.
We highly recommend. Next time I would have him hold the extra salt at the end... but this is me.

Delicious and inexpensive

Delicious falafels, babaganush, hommus at an inexpensive price for the region. Small and simple restaurant, with a good service. Not many options, but enough for one to have a great lunch. I recommend the “Arabic plate”, that showcases all the vegan options in one order

Pros: Flavor, Price

Cons: Also prepares chicken and meat, Cash only

Interesting Option

The atmosphere is nothing to write home bout but the food and friendly service more than made up for it. Ordered the hummus with warm pita and falafel sandwich, all fresh tasting. Who goes to Mexico to eat Mediterranean food? I do. Will definitely come back.

Perfect vegan lunch

Small shop with bar style seating, just a few blocks from the beach, food is made right in front of you. I ordered a falafel and a hummus plate which came with warm, fresh pita bread. The hummus and falafel were both probably the BEST I've ever had. The falafel balls were fried right in front of me and accompanied by a cucumber salad, cabbage, hummus, tahini, etc. One sandwich was very filling and satisfying. Though the shop does sell meat, the owner himself is vegan and told me the meat options are to help his store survive in this area. Super sweet guy who will happily answer any of your questions and modify your meal to your liking. I HIGHLY recommend this spot!

Pros: amazing value

Tasty Eats

Don't let this simple falafel joint pass by your radar because it looks small. Their falafel is top notch, as are the dressings. Remember to try one of their taste house-made drinks!

Falafel Sandwich good vegan value

Had a great vegan falafel sandwich and tamarind drink. They don't use any dairy on premises, which is great. Chatted with Carla, a Canadian ex-pat who works there part-time--she's a sweetie!!

Pros: price, dairy free, tasty

Cons: limited vegan options, serves meat, visible, smells, limited seating

Amazinggg 😍💕

I would give this place 5 stars if I could. The owner was super friendly and we talked the entire time. I ordered a falafel, he made it fresh right in front of me and asked me if I was vegan. Everything he had there was homemade by him. His falafel beat my all time favorite back at home! I would definitely recommend if you are in the area.

Deeelicious

The vegan options here are absolutely superb, and everything is fresh. The owner is knowledgeable about veganism and everything looked very clean. He's also a really nice guy to talk to.

You've got falafel wraps, hummus, and baba ghanoush, all absolutely delicious and authentic. Check it out!

Pros: fresh, authentic, vegan-friendly

Cons: meat served in restaurant, hole in the wall atmosphere (could be a con?)
