Il Melograno non è un ristorante completamente vegano, ma ha molti piatti vegetariani e anche vegani dall'antipasto al dolce, passando per le pizze. Hanno anche una "mozzarella" vegetale di produzione propria per le pizze, che però non ho avuto occasione di provare. Il personale è molto gentile, disponibile e competente, visto che il ristorante è certificato dalle associazioni che si occupano di celiachia e intolleranza al lattosio. Sono previlegiati i prodotti locali e biologici. Il rapporto qualità prezzo è molto buono. Il locale è molto carino e ben curato.

Read moreI’ve been eating here with a friend two times and we enjoyed our pizzas a lot! Unfortunately the cheese didn’t tasted “cheesy”, so it was more like a cream.

There were some vegan options and the menu was very clear as opposed to what was vegan. But the food needed some more taste. We tried the summer veggie pizza and there wasn't a lot of taste in it.

Margarita Pizza with vegan Mozarella was flooded with tomato sauce, the sauce was dripping down from the slices and the mozarella tasted like nothing.
Waitresses were friendly but manager(?) refused to speak english and was very rude.

I liked the fact that this restaurant offers local, seasonal and healthy food and vegan options are clearly marked. However, the chef doesn't seem to be very good, it seems they don't use spices, I don't know why, there are local, seasonal and healthy spices available. Anyway, we ate caponatina as starter (a dish of cooked aubergine, zucchini, peppers, olives, caprices) which was good (not perfect for lack of spices), then a Chicca Vegana pizza which was not good. The rice mozzarella did not have a taste at all and the dough was also just OK. The vegan Sacher cake, however, was really good.

I was really looking forward to my first vegan pizza in Italy and was very disappointed. Although the cheese is homemade, it doesn't taste like anything and its consistency is not appetizing. my friend's tuna pizza was okay.

Surely a great spot in a central and convenient location, serving food made with high quality, organic and locally sourced ingredients, clearly labelled for different dietary needs. It is an excellent option for healthier and more conscious eating, but there is room for improvement on the vegan end. There was only one vegan starter (vegetable tempura), two vegan mains (pizza and one rather basic pasta) and one vegan dessert at the time of my visit. The pizza was good and I appreciated that rice mozzarella was home-made but it was not particularly well executed. I think it is a great start that can easily be further strengthened. At present, it is more of an ideal choice for vegetarians, those on gluten-free diets or simply those looking for healthier, organic food than for vegans. Yet, I greatly appreciate the good intentions and I would happily be back once they add more vegan options and/or further refine the current ones.

We loved the quiet patio far away from the loud touristy places. It's necessary to call first and reserve since outdoor seating is very limited. (at least during covid restrictions) Food was delicious, there is an english menu and easy to read with a tasteful colour system for vegan/vegetarian/meat. Would recommend!
