Fantastic for a great price

First time coming to hugos, was offered vegan ham, pepperami or chicken in the cheeze panini. Opted for chicken along with a tomato chutney and it was amazing. For £4.50 with a packet of crisps I was very happy. The worker was also lovely and friendly. Will definitely go again.

Pros: Very tasty, Great value, Lovely staff

Cons: Cheese took time to melt but not their fault

Bargain lunch on the go

A hole in the wall take out offering panini, salads and soup. They have vegan cheese wand meat replacements and food at incredibly good prices.
Baked pptao was not far off the price of a coffee in Edinburgh.
Lovely stuff

Pros: Staff, Value

Tasty food, good value

Vegan options include panini, jacket potatoes, salad with vegan mayo, flapjack, oat milk for hot drinks. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Good value too - a vegan cheese and chicken panini, salad box, crisps and juice came to £5

Hidden Gem

Just a short walk from Exhibition park, Hugo's offers a good selection of vegan options despite its small size. Personally, I prefer it to the nearby Urban Green cafe. On my visit I ordered a vegan pepperoni and cheese panini with crisps (or salad) for just £3.95, which was delicious. Although just a takeout, there are a few outside seats available but my recommendation is to enjoy your order by the lake within Exhibition park, which is what I did. The owner is really friendly and vegan aware too and if you are planning a visit to the park or in the area I would certainly recommend a visit here.

Pros: Tasty vegan options, Inexpensive , Staff

Great vegan selection!

This coffee and sandwich bar has just re-opened, I stopped by and they have a great selection of vegan meat substitutes and choice of vegan mozzarella and cheddar cheeses for sandwiches and paninis. Served with crisps and a salad for a very reasonable price (£3-£6 depending on what you get), with great friendly service. It’s just a takeaway bar, although there are a couple of tables on the street, or a park nearby! There isn’t currently a separate vegan menu, but they’re just testing the water with which options are popular for now, and they are very helpful if you ask!

Pros: Helpful friendly staff, Selection of vegan alternatives, Great food

Cons: Not a separate printed menu - you have to ask
