Some vegan choices - Edit
New menu (sadly no kimchi toastie) at this family friendly cafe next to Exhibition Park playground. There were so many options (breakfast, toasties, sausage sandwich, focaccia sandwich, soup, plus specials) that I struggled to choose. Went for the roast veg and vegan feta toasted flat wrap, it was very tasty, filling and at £5.50, good value

Disappointed, no kimchi! 😔 - Edit
I’m disappointed as I’ve come here early on a Sunday morning especially to try out the kimchi, cheese & avocado toastie and they don’t have any kimchi. There is nothing else vegan on the menu so I’ve had to have the toastie without the kimchi which was a bit bland but ok.

Hancock’s Half Hour - Edit
Tucked away from the city centre in the very pleasant Exhibition Park within a stone’s throw from the Wylam Brewery. Pitched up for a coffee and cake, we had the delicious key lime cheesecake and a rather dry but tasty piece of apple strudel. An added bonus was being able to pick up some cans from the nearby Wylam Brewery and a couple of beers from London’s Two Tribes brewery. The wood fired pizzas look good and could be a nice option one day.

Vegan friendly cafe - Edit
Great to see this cafe reopen in the fabulous Exhibition park, albeit under new owners and with a different name. A lot of effort has gone into making the cafe safe and enjoyable for all. The cafe is modern with excellent outside seating and most importantly has some good vegan options, although this could so easily be expanded with better use of the ingredient such as the vegan cheese to offer even more. On this occasion we ordered a toastie with kimchi, avocado and vegan cheese, while the staff were happy to replace kimchi with tomato for our other toastie. Both toasties came with crisps and a side salad and were delicious. Alas, no vegan sausage rolls were available to add to our order, which was a shame. An Americano and latte were also ordered but were disappointing. I will definitely return again and I'm looking forward to trying the vegan pizza.
