There were only three vegan scoop options, but they were very good, and the texture was fantastic. The staff seemed knowledgeable and warned that none of the cone choices are vegan, so be sure to order your scoops in a cup.

Heather's Water and Ice has several vegan options, both soft serve and scoops. The soft serve flavors change every couple days. Heather also has a candy & gift shop next door that has several vegan options for candy and snacks. If you are in Lake Havasu City, Heather's Water and Ice is a must stop.

So I agree with 1 reviewer, the place was a little confusing. When you look it up on Google Maps, it is called "Cady & Cole's Thrifty Ice Cream" and on the outside it says only "Thrifty Ice Cream". But the people behind the counter still had shirts that said "Heather's Water and Ice". There is definitely a smaller set of vegan choices compared to the rest. But there was a dedicated vegan soft serve machine with 2 flavors (today was chocolate and peanut butter) and 4 frozen varieties (I recall vanilla, mint chocolate, cherry vanilla, and another water based frozen ice type). The server asked if I was vegan and then proceeded to introduce me to herself and 2 other servers who are also vegan. So the good news is I think this place is dedicated to at least keep some vegan options on the table. She did say the flavors change out every 3-4 days, so the varieties will vary.

It was a little confusing to find this because the outside looks like a convenience store. But the inside is an entire ice cream store! One of the girls was wearing a shirt that said "Nasty Vegan" so I knew I was in the right place! She told me they offered chocolate and pumpkin soft serve made from soymilk, and the chocolate had plant based protein in it. They also had some hard flavors made of soymilk. I ordered a cone of the chocolate soft serve with vegan chocolate chips. Yum! It was chocolatey, a little grainy because of the protein powder in it, but it was good! Definitely need to try the pumpkin next time.

Not sure what happened to the place in the pictures but it is certainly not there anymore. Couldn't even find the place because it must have been purchased by thrifty ice cream so the heathers sign was hidden. They have 1 or two soy options but I wanted to go for the soft serve. They still have a few signs on the walls saying plant based but it's not anymore. Very disappointing to see a great place like this sell out to the corporate chains and no longer be vegan. Will never return
