Freshly rolled - Edit
Lots of fillings to choose from. The 'hoisin duck' is very tasty. Large rolls so fairly filling. Seating is downstairs and limited so it can get full on a sunny day but so easy to takeaway and eat on the beach.

banana mylkshake - Edit
I only had time to get the banana mylkshake and I absolutely loved it! The mix of oats and cinnamon made this one of the most unique drinks I've ever had in my life. I wish I was able to get the sushi.

one of my favourite meals ever! - Edit
Didn't know about this place, will definitely be back! The food was absolutely delicious, loads of veg and loads of flavour, the perfect balance between healthy and treaty deliciousness. I had some kind of 'chicken' with avocado and veg, and a side of popcorn cauliflower (not needed but couldn't resist and very glad I didn't!) Everything was fresh, tasty, original and delicious. Various toppings and sauces are offered at no extra charge. The people working there or running it (?) are really friendly and professional.
Read moreSlightly hidden away but central and not hard to find if you know your vegan Brighton (very near Boho gelato/terre a terre/ v bites). There's more seating downstairs.
Pros: delicious, original, vegan
Cons: none!

Nice food, GREAT service! - Edit
Nice vegan sushi with interesting fillings. I have a severe nut allergy and the girl working here went out of her way to make sure there was no cross contamination (as they use peanuts in the kitchen). Good cheap food. Highly recommended.

I visited Happy Maki for the first time recently after hearing lots of good reviews on social media. The staff were friendly and helpful when I had difficulty picking from their wide menu. I had a hoisin duck sushi roll and a side of popcorn cauliflower with spicy coconut sauce. Wow it was amazing! Really tasty and filling food and great value for money. I can't wait to go back and try some other menu items soon.

Sushi Burritos! - Edit
These huge sushi wraps are delicious and there are loads of options from fake meats to straight up veggies. I haven't tried all of the sides but I loved the inari, it was grilled which made it different to regular inari and it was some of the best I've ever had. Definitely a must if you're visiting Brighton.

vegan sushi cafe - Edit
Cute vegan sushi cafe. Their maki rolls are yummy and filling, and they have lots of options which are made right in front of you. Also tried the cauliflower popcorn snack which was good. Friendly service. And a great ethos - they donate money to an organisation which plants trees for every maki roll sold :) seating downstairs.

Nice Clean Place - Edit
We ate here on a Saturday in Brighton, which is kind of a madhouse, but Happy Maki was a quiet sanctuary. It's clean and bright, everything white and cool. And the food is interesting and good. We've never eaten raw fish, and never will, so we can't say how the food compares to sushi, but it was fresh with varied ingredients, and filling. The staff were excellent: they made everything fresh right in front of you, and they were happy to talk about the food. It's a little hard to find, but persevere because it's worth the search.

A must if visiting Brighton - Edit
An interesting and delicious twist on sushi. Definitely try the Rainbow Roll for a fresh, healthy, and full of flavour meal. Whilst the menu may seem small - choice of seven wraps - you'll want to have every wrap at least twice.

Cute little place near the bus station. Big maki rolls made up to order, with sides like sweet potato chips. Really liked the avocado one and my other half woofed down some sort of fake chicken one. Sweet potato fries were nice too. Get there early too avoId too much of a queue. A few seats downstairs

Brilliant food, at reasonable price - Edit
I'm not traditionally a massive fan of sushi, but this very much changed my mind. Filling portions, with creative recipes and fillings, at a price that was very good. Even starters (tofu rice rolls) were big enough for a quick meal.
Read moreFully plant based and vegan friendly, you could not go wrong. Has tables in a basement dining room, so don;t be fooled by the look of it from outside. Wouldn't hesitate to visit here again from what we had. Only shame is they don't have a branch of this place on Brighton Pier: the population of Brighton need a much healthier bite on the pier than the the outlets of grease and constant fried stuff that are resident there!
Highly recommended.
Pros: Excellent food, Could see food being prepared in front of you, Good portions
