I’d already tried Happy Maki at Boomtown Festival and fell in love so had to visit when I was in Brighton! The sushi was delicious ever and staff were lovely.
Read moreI was surprised to learn it’s pay as you feel. The company has a brilliant ethos and ethics. We saw this ourselves when a man who was homeless came in. He was extremely rude to the staff but they were lovely and offered him whatever he would like for free.
Pros: Delicious vegan sushi, Wonderful ethos, Very reasonably priced (pay as you feel)

Sushi in a "burrito" - what's not to love? - Edit
Such a genius creation I was lucky to try at Vegan Life Live in London. Went for the Thai Sweet Potato. Excellent flavour and super filling as well. Please come to London! Really like how they are supporting worthy social and environmental initiatives.

We’ve eaten at Happy Maki a few times (both at vegan festivals and in the Brighton store) and have never been disappointed. The sushi burritos are so delicious and the fake meats taste amazing - we love the hoisin duck and sweet chilli chicken in particular. At £6.50 per wrap the food is so reasonably priced, and is a must-try for any sushi lover!

This restaurant serves my favourite type of food. The rolls are large and the ingredients are crisp and healthy. It's not just takeaway. The cafe has a little seating area downstairs that you can't see from the street. They have a positive social contribution from their revenue. But, it was very expensive.

When I realised they'd set up shop in my home town BTN I obv could not resist a visit. Honestly, these guys made it into my death row meal selection and me n my stomach will forever be indebted to u.

Duck yes. Probably the one I've eaten the most because the flavour is just outrageous. The duck style jackfruit is delissshh.

Probably one of the best versions of tofu fish alternatives EVER. Oh my cod right? With a proper skin, super crispy and flavoursome. The tartare sauce compliments it wonderfully, so creamy and just pukka tbh.

I love this place, all their rolls are delicious and filled with flavour. They also prepare it in-front of you so you can make adjustments when necessary. They also have downstairs seating and is located really close to the coast.

Choice of 8 different wraps, plus sides such as popcorn cauliflower. My daughter and I had a fully loaded and crispy cod tartare, which was lovely! It was £6.50 to take away and £7.80 to eat in. We should have chosen to take away and eat on the beach, but my daughter chose to pay extra to sit outside in the shade of a car park 😂
