Brilliant food and out of this world service - Edit
What an experience! I was in Watkins Glen on holiday for 5 days and ate lunch and dinner at Green Elephants every single day. I did not bother to look for any other place. The food was incredible. Creamy for some and just the right amount of spice for others. The ingredients were fresh and wholesome. The sauces (peanut sauce, sweet chili sauce, etc) were so very good. The desserts were deliciously decadent. My favorites were definitely the spring rolls, rice paper rolls, dumplings, and Praram, but every dish was really amazing. I was so happy that I didn't need to worry about whether it was 100% vegan or not. I could just eat and enjoy. It was truly the best Thai food I have ever taste. EVER!
Read moreThe service was amazing. The server was so attentive and accommodating. He just went out of his way to make my partner and I feel at home and comfortable. If I lived in Watkins Glen, I would have shares in this little corner of heaven. I highly recommend Green Elephants. 10 stars from me.

GO HERE! - Edit
Probably one of the best meals I've ever had, for real. We went late on Thursday night. We were the only ones there and they had a problem with the cars reader but we were able to pop nextdoor to bar ATM. The server was very friendly and attentive. Appetizers were very tasty and fresh. The crunch on the golden bags was perfection! The wonton soup is spot on and delicious. My husband got Pad Thai (and I usually taste it when we go out), both of us said it was the best Pad Thai either of us have ever had. The Pad See-aaw was so good. The tofu in it was flavorful and not oily at all. We left absolutely stuffed and will DEFINITELY return!!

all vegan! - Edit
i love most places if they’re all vegan, but the summer rolls were so fresh and the peanut sauce was amazing. we got the praram mock duck and it was so peanuty and delicious. the waitress described mild as american medium, medium as american hot, hot as extremely hot, and thai hot even hotter. i asked for mine with no spicy. we also got the fried tofu app and that was super good too.

Phenomenal - Edit
This was my second visit to this place, and I love it. Tom Yum soup, Pad See Awe, Spicy Basil Stir Fry, Thai Golden Packets, Steamed Dumplings, all excellent. (We got excited and ordered so much food we had to take food home). Last time we had Yellow Curry which was also really good. Service was very good too. I wish they had a restaurant in Ithaca.

6⭐️: my favorite Thai restaurant ever - Edit
Thai is my favorite cuisine, and pad see ew is my favorite dish. Has been for longer than I’ve been vegan. I had the best pad see ew of my life for lunch here on Friday, then came back for dinner on Saturday and had it again. Everything I sampled was perfect, but the pad see ew straight up knocked my socks off. If this place was near me, I’d eat here every week.

Hands down some of the best food i’ve had in my life to date. They had so many vegan options on the menu to choose from which makes my little vegan heart so happy! The pineapple fried rice was absolutely amazing and so much better tha any i’ve had in the past. Cute restaurant and amazing and friendly staff! I would be a very frequent customer if I lived here!

All-vegan Thai heaven - Edit
Everything on this menu sounded so good, we had a hard time choosing what to order, and we're considering going back again tonight! For appetizers we tried the steamed vegetable dumplings and the won ton soup. The dumplings came with an irresistible sweet soy dipping sauce. For our mains, my boyfriend had the spicy basil fried rice with mock duck and medium-level spiciness, and I had pad see aew with tofu and vegetables. The fried rice was spicy and flavorful, and the rice had a fluffy texture that was unlike anything I've had before. It's been years since I had pad see aew and WOW it did not disappoint. The veggies were delicious. After a long day of driving and a visit to Farm Sanctuary, this totally hit the spot.

Must visit - Edit
In town to visit Farm Sanctuary and tried this newish spot for the first time. We were looking forward to trying the other newish vegan spot nearby in Montour Falls, but they were taking the weekend off. Still looking forward to coming back to check them out, but very glad it gave us the opportunity to try out Thai green elephant.
Read moreI hadn't had wonton soup in close to 10 years and it was fantastic (though the dumplings were a little delicate and fell apart a bit). Pad See Ew, Pad Thai, spring rolls were all absolutely delicious. While Thai is often vegan friendly, it was really great to be able to order anything off the menu with no alteration or questions.
Online ordering made it easy to order on our drive down so that it was ready when we arrived. Only 15 mins from farm sanctuary, so we brought it there to eat at the picnic tables before our tour.
It will be difficult to decide where to stop the next time we are in town!
Pros: Fully vegan thai, Excellent food

Eat your way through the entire menu - Edit
We were beyond excited to try a vegan Thai. No fretting about fish sauce in everything. Owners also run Thai Elephants down the street. It's only been open a month. Please visit a lot so it keeps going -- we know we will be back to this area. I had the cold rice rolls and papaya salad; my spouse had mock duck which was soooo tender. We brought a bottle of rose, and the chef immediately ran over a cold ice bucket. Riesling is great for Thai food even though it's not my favorite grape. The menu is huge, and it can be very hard to decide. I was mesmerized by the huge screen showing ocean life video. Watkins Glen is a cute town to stroll around. We saw a woman sitting outside cuddling an iguana, lol.

Outstanding - Edit
Celebrated my birthday with family at Green Elephant in Watkins Glen - a memorable experience! Sweet and attentive waitress greeted us from the moment we walked in. The owner and chef were passionate about their food and it showed in the phenomenal dishes. As a vegan, I was thrilled with the many delicious options. Fresh, flavorful, and satisfying soups, rice dishes, noodle dishes, and appetizers impressed even meat eaters in our group. Coconut dessert was out of this world! Impressive for a new restaurant committed to healthy, delicious, and ethical food. Top-notch service and cozy atmosphere. Highly recommend for a dining experience that's both memorable and delicious!

I was looking forward to visiting, and they did not disappoint. The atmosphere inside is nice and comfortable. The food was delicious, although the potatoes in one of the curry dishes was a little undercooked. They are accommodating to large groups. Just make a reservation beforehand. Excited to visit again and try more dishes.
