All hot sauce has butter - Edit
Since it’s listed in the description of this restaurant as an option, I was just told that all hot sauces have butter. Even tho the cauliflower tacos have a vegan aioli, be sure to specify no hot sauce!

Great tacos! - Edit
Stopped in for a drink and was delighted to see that the tacos were vegan. The cauliflower was fried to perfection and the vegan aioli was a great addition. Hannah took care of us amd gave us some great tips while staying in town. Highly recommend!!

Disappointing - Edit
I tried the brussel sprouts which are not vegan as posted to menu. I asked that they be prepared vegan due to reviews on HC and they came out fried with no sauce or seasoning of any kind. I love brussel sprouts but these were terrible. When I didn't eat them, the waitress didn't even question why.

Not clear what is vegan - Edit
Menu doesn't mark vegan options. When asked what vegan options they had, they said they weren't sure but cauliflower wings probably were.

Food was not good - Edit
The food was not good, the place was super loud. So, a guy who was cleaning and picking up dirty dishes was extremely loud and it was not pleasant to eat with such noise. I would not recommend this place.

It’s All About The Fried Brussels Sprouts! - Edit
Decent pub fare all the way around. Had the Cauliflower Tacos, and my wife had the Beyond Burger. Both were solid, but it was the Fried Brussels Sprouts that stole the show….truly an amazing appetizer! Pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. Would definitely head here again!

No Vegan Menu as Stated - Edit
Came because website said there was a vegan menu…there isn’t. They had one already-vegan option -cauliflower tacos which were cold pieces of cauliflower drenched in store bought salsa served with cold fries. Table was sticky and I had to cover it with a napkin. Bay breeze was like a giant glass of fruity drink.

Enjoyed it - Edit
I’m giving it extra points because of the number of options available in a town I wouldn’t expect to have vegan options. We ordered a Beyond burger, cauliflower tacos (sautéed not fried), sweet potato fries, and fried Brussels sprouts. The Beyond burger was predictably good. The cauliflower tacos were very good. The verdict has not yet been deliberated on the fried Brussels sprouts. I expected pan fried, but these were like deep/deep friend to the point when they became dry. I felt like they were WAY overcooked by my husband thinks it was done on purpose.

Because of Covid, the service was a little slow but the food was absolutely FANTASTIC! I definitely recommend the hummus if it’s an option during their seasonal menu!

Food was good! - Edit
The poutine was great - mushroom gravy and cheese curds, what’s not to like? The portobello mushroom sandwich was ok, too much bread to mushroom ratio. Cauliflower tacos were amazing, def recommend them over the mushroom. They also do a cauliflower wing which I’m sure is amazing and they have vegan aioli.

Seitan tacos! - Edit
The restaurant has recently changed names to "Rooster Fish Brewing Pub" and still has the same great homemade seitan tacos that other reviewers mentioned (prompting our visit). We also got the pretzel and the staff put the "special sauce" made for the vegan Beyond Meat burger on the side. Everything was delicious! We visited here as part of our stay at the nearby Farm Sanctuary.

Great for lunch/dinner - Edit
Went for breakfast during recent trip to Watkins Glen and discovered they recently changed their menu and no longer offer breakfast. Went back later and had the delicious seitan tacos. Went back another day to have them again since they were so good. We tried the onion rings, which are made with pickled onions, and didn't care for them. They also have a beyond meat Burger on the menu, which my sister enjoyed.

In Love - Edit
I am absolutely in love with The Wildflower Cafe - the seitan tacos and onion rings are to die for. I've been here multiple times, and the staff are always accommodating, and willing to change up menu items to make them vegan - for example, the soft pretzel appetizer is vegan without the butter or cheese! (Just ask for the spicy vegan spread as a replacement.) The desserts I've had are delicious, and the building itself has a great aesthetic, ultimately deeming this place a favorite among my family and friends. Aside from the park, I would go to Watkins Glen just for this cafe.

My hubby whom is not vegan (but eats mostly vegan) and I went here on our 10th anniversary and he got a black bean burger and I got the jackfruit tacos. Everything tasted wonderful and we love the atmosphere and the wait staff. Would definitely be going back. Beer and wine selection is great!

Seitan Tacos - Edit
If I could give a 5 I would! They had a handful of veggie/vegan options. Ask your server and they'll be able to tell you!
Read moreI went with the seitan tacos. This was my first time eating seitan and I have to say it has left a high mark to meet. Very flavorful, and huge portions. Everything tasted very fresh. I went with onion straws for a side but they have other options.
They recently started doing vegan dessert specials. My husband and I split an apple cobbler that was out of this world! They didn't have vegan ice cream yet but they're working with a local place to get that soon.
Pros: great service , knowledgeable staff
Cons: a drive if you're not from Watkins
