Basic Fare - Edit
Okay but not many options, fairly bland. Only white rice available when I went, the dhal and bean soup were okay, spinach tasteless.

Simple and satisfying - Edit
I went to Govinda for lunch and enjoyed it very much. The atmosphere was very calm and relaxing and it let me enjoy my meal. The food was very good, a little bit too oily for me personally, but it was lots of food for a fair price. Everyone was kind and welcoming.

Nice Lunch - Edit
Govinda's lunch was filling and very tasty and reasonably priced, 24 dollars for two. The food was seasoned just right. They have vegan and vegetarian choices. The dining hall is quiet and you can have a conversation as you eat. Govinda's is a hidden gem in Dwtn Brooklyn

Reasonable Vegan/Vegetarian mdeals - Edit
Plenty of meals for vegans. I had a complete meal including 5 vegan selections, green salad, soup and a roll. It cost only $12.00 inclusive. They serve home-made type meals, and mine tasted good and satisfying. I found some dishes had a touch of Indian flavours. They (the servers) were very friendly and welcoming.
Read moreThis place is located on the lower level of the temple. Nothing fancy. It looks like a board room with large round tables. They provide meals on paper plates with plastic utensils. If you are looking for a fancy vegetarian restaurant or café, maybe this place is not for you. But their taste is guaranteed. (location: about 2 minutes from the Hoyt-Schermerhorn station or 5 minutes from Hoyt station.)
Pros: Tasty, reasonable price

fresh and excellent - Edit
I got the complete meal and it was so much and so delicious to eat. The ladies serving the buffet are super friendly and welcoming. The seating area is very large and super clean. I really loved the kichari. Such a gem. The only thing difficult was to find parking in this area. I’ll be back next time visiting the area.
