A vegan oasis in the heart of Ao Nang

A beautiful vegan restaurant, one of very few in Ao Nang. The food is excellent, importantly you don’t have to compromise on traditional cuisine for a great vegan meal at Govindas. If you are interested in something non-Thai, I would definitely recommend the lasagne, possibly the best I’ve ever had (vegan or non-vegan) it was delicious!!

Pros: atmosphere, decor, friendly staff

Cons: only open from 12

well.. nice

Went after I was at their restaurant on the beach (which was really good and fresh). I was kinda disappointed, first of all it is far from everything, I had to go for like 20 minuets till I found the place.
Second, everything is pre-made and just getting hit up with order. Therefore it’s kinda hard to understand why it took them 15 minuets to make my order when I was the only one there.

Sweets looked nice but I didn’t try them.

Overall- nice and tiny place, it’s always nice to see “vegan” signs around, but there are many better options on other restaurants around.

Mostly prepared and warmed-up opn order

Actually I was kind of disappointed. It is 100% vegetarian, and has a lot of vegan options, but it could so better.

The falafel was too dry, the hummus a cold liquid, the soup lacked taste, the shakes contained not enough fruit and too much water, and the rest was prepared and only heated-up opon order.

The location is nice, but they could do better!

Extraordinary delicious food!!

I ate here several times during my visit to Ao Nang. Everything I tried was absolutely amazing from the vegetarian lasagna to the spinach pie and falafel wrap.

I also highly recommend the pumpkin pie and vegan custard.

The staff is great and super friendly.

Space is limited, especially in peak dining hours.

I would give 10 stars if possible.

Cons: limited seating.

Really special place

This little restaurant serves really good food (both vegan and vegetarian), all home made and with quality ingredients for an affordable price. What I liked the most was the kindness of the owner while explaining things and answering all our questions.
It also has very cute decorations and shares a beautiful concept.

Highly recommend

This was just what we needed and was just a short walk from the beach. We had the lasagna and burger and we weren't dissapointed. The pineapple juice was also very refreshing. If you need some good vegan food in Ao Nang, come here!

Cozy, clean, and with delicious food!!

The place has a great athmosphere and comfortable seating, the staff is very friendly and accomodating.
Vegetarian/Vegan Cuisine with so many good options, definitely a good place for lunch or dinner, definitely recommend trying the fruit shakes (non dairy milks available) and the baked goods 😍

Pros: Many vegan options, Open to feedback, Free literature

Cons: It can get a little bit warm

Little hidden gem

It was my first time travelling overseas as a vegan and I was nervous about not having many options to eat. But this place was such a fantastic find and I ate here every day. It was such a relief to find! The place is so beautifully decorated with love and has such a nice, relaxed vibe. The food is also so yummy! The lasagna was so delicious, as well as the vegan deserts. I would definitely recommend this place!

Pros: Beautiful vibes, Delicious home made food made with love, Wonderful service

Great spot

I am very happy to have found this spot. Eating vegetarian is very easy here but eating vegan is not. The food is great and the place is delightful!!!

Little gem

Such a cute and cozy place! We had the lasagne, burger, a blackberry milkshake and a chocolate blueberry cupcake and everything was very tasty, and vegan! Most dishes are vegan and they are marked with a V. Love the little details such as mandalas on the floor and quotes on the walls. Definitely coming back :)

Pros: Good price , Cozy atmosphere

hidden treasure

After reading so many good reviews, we headed to this restaurant straight away. The food was so lovely and for the first time there wasnt too much oil or salt used as in other restaurants weve been to. We had the soup, burger, empanada and pumpkin pie. Everything tasted amazing, I loved the mayo they used for the burger, it looked and tasted of cheese! Pumpkin pie is to die for!

The waitress and her daughter was amazingly helpful and gave us some tips for the island as well. We will be returning!

Must go to- absolutely delicious, very special menu, everything made fresh!

Govinda's is a must go to restaurant for vegans and vegetarians in Thailand. It is SO beautiful, and everything is delicious. The vegan lasagna and veggie burger are unbelievable. Deserts are made fresh throughout the day- the chocolate mousse and blueberry lemon cupcakes (all vegan) are out of this world. It's also affordable, and owned by the nicest woman. It's a savior in Ao Nang and the surrounding islands!!! I can't recommend Govinda's enough!! It was a true pleasure for all of my senses.

Pros: Vegan desserts , Delicious food, Affordable

Cons: It's too far from New York City to go everyday!

Best Veggie Spot in Krabi

Wow! We loved the vibe of the restaurant, the food, and everything was reasonably priced compared to everything else in Krabi. Staff was kind and attentive, and I think everything on the menu was or could be made vegan. So impressed. We were sad to find that this restaurant was closed for our first two nights we were in Krabi (Saturday and Sunday) but we will definitely be back for the next two nights we're in Krabi. This restaurant is a heavenly veggie oasis!

Pros: Lots of Vegan options, Friendly staff, Atmosphere

A breath of fresh air in ao nang

I found this amazing humble family run cafe through Google. Lila is so knowledge about food and the meals that she serves. In the 3 days that we were so grateful for having some lovely vegan/vegetarian dishes. In particular we really enjoyed the soya burger, fajita and an Indian inspired dish of which I cannot remember the name but it was delicious too. Oh and the pumpkin pie was amazing!!

We really hope this place continues to flourish in aonang so that it's still there when we return.

Thank you for everything guys we look forward to seeing you in the future.

Abbi and James ? xx

Pros: Clean and tidy, Love the Indian inspired decorations, The family run atmosphere

Cons: Wish we could have eaten here more often

Best Vegan food in Ao Nang!!

My girlfriend and I were worried about coming to ao nang, a strip full of restaurants catering to meat and fish eaters. But thank god we stumbled upon Govinda's. the food is amazing, and the portions are large! There is a special that rotates daily and I can't tell you how relieved we feel knowing that over the next five days we will be able to eat here, and be comfortably full when we leave. Please come and check this place out if you get the chance. The staff are lovely and kind. You will not be disappointed. If only I could give this place more than 5 stars!

Pros: Food, Portion size

Amazing café!

Cute little café with mostly vegan food, only two items contained cheese and were clearly marked as vegetarian. There's no menu, you choose directly from the display case, which I loved. The lasagna was amazing, and my omni boyfriend loved his fajita too. Cheap, good sized portions that fill you up but leave just enough room for one of their delicious cupcakes or muffins. The Chilean family who runs this place is so sweet too, I'm so happy I found this café!

Pros: lots of vegan options, clearly labeled , delicious food , lovely staff

lovely!

had the daily menue with rice and chickpeas with tomato sauce. they had more vegan than vegetarian options (so I don't get why it's listed as vegetarian). could be more seasoned but as it is "jay"food maybe it's just the missing onion an garlic. the vegan White chocolate cupcake was delicious! friendly stuff, lovely decorated, fast to reach and quite easy to find.
so I would totally recommend to go there if you want to eat non-thai food.

Pros: many vegan options
