Not great, cheap. - Edit
I sincerely do not understand all the good reviews for this place?
Read moreIt's not terrible, but nothing about the food out of Govinda can be described as great.
It's cold, bland Indian food in a styrofoam container.
Personally I like Indian food with a little heat. In terms of temperature and spice.
It's somewhat better than the Indian stuff you might find at Food Lion's 'International' section. But that is merely because it's more authentic.
And you can surely microwave it at home to warm it up if you get take away.
But the bland. I mean what am I eating Indian food for if not to have something that is not bland. Just some cardamom at least?
The people that serve the food are generally nice.
But for plant based food with actual flavor Cobra Cabana is less than a block away. And you can get full for about the same amount.
Pros: friendly staff, its all vegan or vegetarian
Cons: cold, bland, not spicy

Delicious and affordable - Edit
The food is so delicious. I love the simplicity of not having a menu and just ordering the Thali (plate). The food is different each night, and adding sides on is also so affordable. Its gotten too expensive for me to eat out recently so I am so grateful for this gem

Extremely cheap Krishna food - Edit
Almost entirely vegan, other than very limited dairy options. There's no menu, you just get whatever they made that day, which you can buy all together or a la carte for $2-3. Run on Krishna principles that require all food be blessed and offered cheaply to others, so it's extremely affordable. I'm talking $7 for a plate of food that will leave you in your chair for 15 minutes afterward. If you force them to accept a tip, they will just put it in a donation box for the homeless. Also the food is delicious.

Fast Healthy Eats, Really Good Indian food - Edit
This restrunt makes one meal option each evening, which is Vegan and served in take out containers. So you get a really fast meal that changes each evening. They may sometime offer a veg(dariy) item in addition.
