Best in Chiang Mai so far - Edit
Folks, I have been coming to Chiang Mai for many years. I and two friends agreed that we had a great experience. There are some good Vegan restaurants like Reform Cafe, but GoodSouls Kitchen has ALL the features...
Read moreAir conditioning,
Cleanliness,
Exceptionally flavorful food,
Great presentations,
Quick and cheerful service
Very reasonable prices. Contrary to what some reviewers claimed, prices were surely not more than Reform Cafe and I believe less though not at street food levels.

Like the scene. Like the food very much. Been here 3 times in our short stay. I did get my dessert with my main dish and that wasn’t acceptable, because my dessert got cold before I could start eating it. But has fast service :)

Amazing yummy - Edit
Super friendly, top ambiente and of course premium food. We had the Fire 🔥 Boost Kombucha, best One ever! As a Starter the burmese Tea leaves salad 🥗 and it is AMAZING. The Beetroot and the Mushroom burger 🍔 really satisfying 👍. Definitely we will come back. The other day we were here for breakfast and had The Granola bowl and it was also top notch! ... some reviewed it as a little pricey, but I totally disagree. Its actually really affordable for what it is. ... nice music 🎶..👍👍👍

Extremely satisfying! - Edit
Goodsouls Kitchen is one of my Chiang Mai's favorites. It has an extensive menu of both western and Thai dishes, with breakfast and cakes. Even if it is a bit pricey, the food is very good, the place is pleasant and the staff is friendly. I tried their pasta (good), their mushroom burger (the best I had in Asia! The steak is awesome), their scrambled tofu (good but not much creamy), the fresh spring rolls (nothing special) and the carrot cake (perfect!). Their ice creams are also very pleasant. It's a must do in Chiang Mai!

Loved the pie and atmosphere - Edit
We only had space in our stomachs for dessert, but I’m so glad I came here just the same. The coconut cream pie was delicious while still feeling healthy, the staff were SO friendly, and I just loved the retro diner atmosphere. Will definitely go back!

Wowowow - Edit
Ate an amazing burger and shake here. Lovely atmosphere, more of a modern restaurant than most places in Chiang Mai. Beetroot burger tasted great, really! Has (actual) airconditioning inside. Bit pricier, but really worth it for once in a while :)

Good food if you want to splurge - Edit
The food is good, and the portions are quite large. It is a bit more expensive than the typical thai resto, but it has indoor air con seating. Western and thai food, and a great selection of dessert. The massaman curry was very good, but can definitely be shared as it is quite a heavy dish.

This place has an amazing atmosphere and delicious food. One of the best spots in chiang mai easily. The mushroom steak is incomparable. It's a classy vegan joint with solid portions and worth every penny (which really even many). Thank you Goodsouls!!

Not as good as Reform Kafe - Edit
Being a huge fan of reform I was looking forward to checking out goodsouls. The interior is great, however the food just wasn't up to scratch.
Read moreOur favorite at reform are the country fries so naturally, we ordered a portion at goodsouls only to find they weren't even near as good (we have the constantly!).
We then ordered an eggplant and Hummus wrap which was seriously the most greasy food item I have ever ordered in my life. It was literally dripping with grease and created a pool of oil on my plate. I couldn't taste anything but oil and certainly no Hummus!
The service also isn't as good as Reform as the staff aren't as friendly or attentive.
EDIT: I have increased my review rating as we have been to good souls a few more times and I have had some fantastic foods. The beetroot burger was excellent as is the tofu scramble and potatoes. Still not as good as Reform but much better than we initially expected. Don't order the wrap though!!

The best! - Edit
I wrote a review for the Reform Cafe thinking I was reviewing Goodsouls Kitchen (I couldn't remember the name). Anyway, this is the vegan restaurant I returned to daily that had the awesome local kombucha and fantastic food. When I come back to Chiang Mai next year, I will be returning to Goodsouls every day!

not too impressed, very western but not done right - Edit
Went there at lunchtime and already struggled with ordering our drinks because the waitress didn't understand even though we showed her exactly (with fingers on the menu). She came twice to ask again and came off a bit rude, no smile at all. We ordered the Beetroot Burger and the Falafel in Pita Bread, but I got the Mushroom Burger instead.. The food was okay, the sauce on the burger was a bit salty and we didn't feel too happy afterwards. Drinking water is for free which is nice and they had lots of raw cakes which looked good, but we didn't try because we didn't feel very welcomed and comfortable. Even though we already experienced waitress service as a little slower and not very attentive here in Thailand, this service here was pretty bad.

Dear Brina,
Read moreFirst, I would like to thank you for taking the time to share your experience about your visit at Goodsouls Kitchen. It is only through feedback such as yours that we are able to maintain and improve the service we aim to provide.
Although an apology will unfortunately not change the outcome of your experience, I want to express it in all sincerity. I certainly understand the points you mentioned in your comments. I can assure you that we truly welcome and appreciate every guest coming to Goodsouls Kitchen.
On the day of your visit, two of our three waitresses called in sick and we had only one woman whom we recently hired waiting all the tables. As a result we were not able to provide our usual level of service, which I regret. We will certainly do our best to avoid such staff shortages in the future and we will enhance our training, including improving communications skills and overall awareness and attentiveness.
Again, please accept my apology and I hope that you will return to Goodsouls Kitchen again soon.
Please feel free to reach out to me directly as I am looking forward to your suggestions on how to do Western food the right way.
Warm regards,
Daniel

Best Vegan Restaurant in Chiang Mai - Edit
I’m not one to go to the same restaurant more than once while on vacation, but I ended up coming here every day I was in Chiang Mai. Every smoothie bowl they have was amazing and filled with fruit and granola - they even topped it with an edible flower (all for 120 baht!) The Beetroot burger was one of the best burgers I’ve had, and came with a couple fries and a salad. The kombucha they have is also top notch! The prices of this place are hard to beat- everything is around 70-180 baht. The staff here always greeted me with a smile, and were very attentive and helpful. A must if you’re in Chiang Mai!

Excellent - Edit
Best vegan restaurant I have ever been to (and I have been to many all around the world).
Read moreScores 10/10 on choice, quality, price, ambience.
So many options including Thai and western, smoothies, coffee, kombucha, cake, raw etc. I particularly enjoyed the creaky mushroom pasta.
Very clean and modern place with sophisticated decor and great music.no psychedelic wall art or incense sticks here.
Very reasonably priced.
If I had to perfect paradise I would just add a couple more options to the cooked breakfast menu and have dishes come out at the same time. However this service issue is the same in many restaurants throughout Thailand so sort of comes with the territory. Very friendly staff.
I have been three times now in as many days and will keep going back. It really is excellent.

best vegan food in CM - Edit
I lived in CM for 2 months and this place beat every other vegan spot out of the water. Not only did they have an extensive selection, everything you order from pad Thai to burgers is scrumptious. I would highly recommend their beet burger. Everyone raves about the mushroom one but I ended up preferring the beet one.
Read moreThey also have great coffee which they will serve you with coconut.
More than anything though it’s good for groups and is one of the few places with air conditioning. They also play jazz music all day which is super relaxing!
