The white curry is very thick and creamy. It tastes very good and is presented nicely. The small salad on the side us fresh and comes with different pickles.

On a snowy kyoto morning I randomly spotted this place. I was a little late for the breakfast menu, but they still accomodated me. It was warm, inviting, staff were so lovely.

Amazing !! - Edit
Is it good no. It’s bloody great ! Would I go back. Yes I would live in there if I could. Tried the white curry and the classic noodles. Should have really had the whole menu. Almost did !! The fried tofu is also delicious. If you love sesame and tofu. You’re in the right spot. The table also has sauces. But don’t worry you’ll use the wrong one and mess up the dish. There’s a paper which guides you on what’s what. And how to you use it !!!!

Macrolishious - Edit
Nice place to sit and lovely staff. We had the curry lunch set. The curry was too salty but tasty, it came with very good side salad and dessert. The tea, sesame pudding and chocolate mousse was very (oishi) delicious. Update don’t even come 5 minutes after 5:00pm. They will send you away. Kitchen closes exactly one hour before the restaurant closes.

Not to be missed by any sesame lover - Edit
This restaurant was such an unexpected found in Kyoto. "Sesame Noodles" are my absolute favourite everytime I visit Taiwan, but you don't really find these anywhere else. So imagine my surprise when I came across this restaraunt. Their version of the dish comes with a much thicker and creamier sesame sauce and it's absolutely amazing. I also tried their eggplant bibimbap and it was equally nice. Definitely not to be missed.

Great healthy food options - Edit
One of our favorite restaurants in Kyoto. They are really focussed on using sesame within their dishes, so if you do not like that, you probably should not eat here. We really liked their food options especially the cold soy milk ramen and their curry. Every dish comes with a small assortment of fermented veggies on the side which are amazing. Also, be sure to try some of their sesame dressings as they probably have the best tahini we have ever tasted.

Great little vegetarian cafe - Edit
Cute little vegetarian cafe in Kyoto (close to Nijo Castle). Stopped by here for lunch and it was a delight. The staff was super friendly and helped us with the menu (explained the dishes and their ingredients in English). The food was delicious and the portions the right size. Seating is limited, but the place is clean, and comfortable. And they have a cute little store section where they sell dessert items, sesame oils, etc. We bought a bunch of different flavored oils - looking forward to trying them out.

Good Ramen - Edit
They have veg ramen and is good. But please note everything in this restaurant has strong presence of sesame. If you are not a sesame person, you may need to look at alternatives. If you like sesame this has pretty good ramen.

Wonderful lunch spot - Edit
Absolutely loved our experience Gomarco. The white curry and noodle dishes are flavorful and satisfying. The sesame flavors added a delightful twist to the dishes. The ambiance is cozy, and the staff is friendly and attentive. It was a highlight of our Kyoto experience.

Amazing Dandan! - Edit
We opted to add on the salad and it was lovely folded through the soup. Only thing I would say is that they need more drink options as they were very limited. The additions you can make with the table condiments really made a difference. We added more tahini, chilli sesame oil and toasted sesame seeds. The little fermented additions were delicious and if we could take them home we would have bought one of each!

Great curry set - Edit
We had the curry set and the bibimbap set, each with tea and a dessert (sesame pudding and sesame puree). Very tasty, right amount of spiciness and good value. We ordered some tofu on the side which was delicious. High quality condiments on the table.

Japanese "cold" dandan noodles - Edit
Yesterday's dinner was at another restaurant, which is “not engaging in proper business,” in #Kyoto 🤣 This restaurant's original business is selling oil, and they have a restaurant that serves a lot of Japanese vegetarian food and provides gourmets with their special oil and various seasonings at the table. All the herbs you see at the table can be bought at the restaurant and taken home.

The food and setup are amazing. I really enjoyed the food. Unfortunately, I have to drop one star because some dishes have honey despite it being listed as fully vegan on HappyCow

Literally amazing???? - Edit
I came here with my non-vegan friend and we were both in LOVE with the food. We had zero expectations going in and ended up being so pleasantly surprised with how lovely the food was. I ordered the bibimbap and my friend got the ramen. Each portion of the food tasted very much of sesame, but it was utilized in different ways each time so it made me appreciate the depth of the flavor a lot more!
Read moreThe cafe itself was cute and chill, you can see the women cooking the food nearby and our waitress was very sweet. The cafe seemed to get much busier around lunchtime (12:30pm or so) so keep that in mind if you decide to go then. I think there might have been a second floor though so it may not be an issue.
The prices were quite affordable; 1540 for the bibimbap a side of tofu. You can also get a larger rice portion for free the menu said but I was more than full with the standard portion size given to me so it might not be necessary.
My friend wanted me to note that the spicy sauce bottle that comes with the ramen is in fact quite (!!) spicy and the warning the waitress gave her when coming with the food is warranted haha.
Pros: Truly delicious, Nice atmosphere and staff, Affordable

Delicious curry - Edit
The spicy curry was absolutely delicious, wanted to lick the plate clean! The sesame sauce used to balance the spice was perfect, and there was more on the table if needed. They sell the sauce as well as other seasonings which is wonderful. The atmosphere was bright and airy with large windows and wooden decor, and we enjoyed taking in the sunny afternoon whilst eating. The staff were so welcoming and kind and spoke some english. The food service was very fast. Highly recommended.

Cannot recommend enough - Edit
Absolutely loved everything about this meal! Staff were so lovely and welcoming, good value for money, such delicious food. Their food is heavily sesame-based and honestly now I think I've been using sesame all wrong when I cook. I had the cold noodle sesame broth which was perfect for a hot day, quite creamy from the sesame broth. Topped with lovely greens and a side of pickled veggies. I got the lunch set which came with coffee (or tea) and a small chocolate dessert. Fantastic meal, absolutely recommend especially if you are nearby checking out Nijo castle.

Hey from memory no, it was mostly hot dishes on the menu and I assume even the cold dish would've had cooked elements (like the noodles)
