It’s ok - Edit
We got there at 2pm and they had sold out of most food. We had a fake sausage roll which was good and Victoria sponge cake which I thought was undercooked.

Love Vegan friendly cafe - Edit
I've been to Ginnys Teapot many times, either for cake or lunch and today it was for lunch after a long walk. We had two pots of tea with oat milk and two jacket potatoes with houmous and roast vegetables. The jacket potatoes were a good sized portion, with lovely roast veggies. We wolfed it down and left without having a cake as we had a bus to catch, but we will be back.

An absolutely delightful find - Edit
What a joy this cafe is - the decor is so quirky and calming and the food is delicious. We were made to feel very welcome and served with smiles and warmth. Having visited Hawkshead many times over the years, this is by far my favourite place to eat there.

Vegan cakes - Edit
Unfortunately food wasn’t being served when I arrived due to staff shortages, however there was a large selection of cakes of which most were vegan. The carrot cake was great and stayed moist for several days after as I’d taken it away in a box.

Vegetarian cafe, mostly vegan options - Edit
Plenty of vegan cakes and drinks to choose from. They were not serving lunches at the time of visiting due to staff shortage, but they still served a great soup with granary bread. Most of the sponges were vegan, I had a delicious Victoria sponge. They also do brilliant hot chocolate with vegan cream and marshmallows. Overall a very nice cafe with a lovely atmosphere, one of the best veggie/vegan cafes I have visited.

Nearly all vegan cakes! - Edit
I didn't have high expectations when I saw that this was a vegetarian cafe (sometimes the vegan options are uninspiring) but was pleasantly surprised to find that the majority of sweets were vegan. Yay! The salted caramel cake was delicious and there were several to choose from (vanilla sponge, flapjack, chocolate brownie etc). They also have savory pastries too. There are vegetarian but not vegan scones but I do hope they serve them in the future because they're such an iconic British thing to eat. Love me some scones with jam and cream!

My wife and I found this little gem on Happy Cow and had a wonderful lunch. The soup of the day is always vegan (or so we were told), as are many of the desserts. The pasties are fantastic, too!

Favourite holiday cafe - Edit
Always make sure we head to Ginnys when in the Lakes on holiday. Today we both had the vegetarian breakfast for the first time. It was tasty and really good value for money. Katie looked after us so well and happily advised us of other vegetarian restaurants to try in the area.

“Had vegan options” - Edit
Yes. There are vegan options. And that’s nice. We arrived at 2:30 pm and told to get a table outside and then come back and order. So we did. At 2:36pm. The kitchen was shutting early and they would only serve us cakes and sausage rolls. Very disappointed as we had walked miles and were so excited for our lunches. Just a real shame. The kitchen closes at 3 so we weren’t being unreasonable asking for food. Oh well. Just be warned.

Unfortunately, due to a shortage of Chefs in the local area since the end of the lockdowns and as the owner of the business, I've had to jump in the kitchen myself a number of times.
