Lunch menu needs work - Edit
Great location, great service and I appreciate that they made the menu so vegan friendly. I want to encourage them to taste their dishes again and make sure they are what they want them to be. We had the Korean Rice Bowls and it was mostly mixed greens with a very small amount of what was quite possibly a day old crunchy rice (or maybe burned?), tofu that did not seem fresh and was just plain tofu in chunks with no marinade or cooking, and the most flavorless sour cabbage I've ever tried that cannot be called kimchi. The shitakes were good but the dish lacked color, flavor and substance, it was $18.50 and totally unsatisfying. We left wanting to still find something to eat. I say they deserve more chances but I hope they figure it out and serve something worth eating.

The newest outpost of the Ghostlight local coffee shop chain, Gather is located inside the historic Dayton Arcade building and is worth a visit for the spectacular setting and beautiful ambience alone. (But the food and coffee are awesome too!) It reminds me of the bistros we frequented in Paris. They have lots of vegan options for food and drinks, all clearly marked on the menu. I love their coffee, vegan breakfast sandwiches and the smash brown potatoes.

I even saw a vegan celery root smoked ‘whitefish’ on their dinner menu 😮 - so we vegans won’t be left out of the tinned fish trend here lol!

Thanks for you review, I can't wait to go! I really appreciate your "ambassadorship" here in Dayton. I grew up in this city but now I just pop in for family stuff now and again. I'm so glad there are healthy vegan options now, as a 30+ year vegan, I sometimes lose a feeling of well being when I'm here but now I don't have to! Thanks, Rasika!
