Closed for good? That's a bummer. It sounds like the location wasn't exactly a hotspot. Moving closer to busy streets and being parking-friendly could definitely make a positive difference!

Firstly, it’s clever how the menu is based off the names of your favorite rap artists or albums like O.D.M or the Redman. Food is organics and fresh and made from scratch such as broccoli or beet burgers and fulfilling bowls. Gangsta Vegan also makes energizing juices and pure smoothies which were perfect after my ride since they are located next to a running and bike trail.

i’ve only ever gotten the ay papi bowl but it’s so delicious everytime. the ingredients are really fresh and wholesome and i feel very healthy and nourished whenever i have it. prices are reasonable, and the dessert i’ve tried is also very yummy😄

This might not be the place you bring your non-vegan friends to convince them that vegan food can be fun too. This is more a place for the daily vegan to get some legit, healthy ass food that’s filling and yum. They don’t go heavy with salts or fats, it’s all business, all fresh and lots of raw. Fresh juices are delish.

If looking for a healthy lunch option this is a stellar spot. I got the Cali salad which was really great, and it seems like most if not all of the menu is raw which is fun and tasty. Juices are really good too, and I’d say average prices for this type of place.

You feel so good about what you are putting in your body when you eat here. The Bonita Apple Baum cheesecake was exquisite. The Kalefornia Love bowl was delicious with all the raw yumminess on a bed of rice. The Blueprint fresh juice with clorophyll and spirulina was tasty. The pricing was good. I purchased all 3 for $22. I'm coming for the kale chips next go around.

Went today for the first time, didn't realize how short a drive it was from DC. Got the burrito bowl, kale bowl, and beet burger. All were great, huge portions for the price, fresh and flavorful. We like eating raw fairly frequently and there aren't too many takeout options in DC that aren't just salads. Happy to have found this, will definitely be back.

Ok, so, admittedly I haven't tried the rice bowls, but, I have tried their salads and dehydrated burgers, and I really don't need to try the rice bowls!

So, I'd rather eat something that I can't get anywhere else, well, not usually anywhere else. I've been a fan of Gangster Vegan since I visited the one in Norristown, PA, and when I found out this was opening up closer to home, oh, boy, was I excited!
The burgers are just as good as I remember, and just as generous in the portion size of the patty itself. Yum! The kale accompaniment... I recall it being more flavorful, but it is super fresh, and really, I just want to eat it with the burger in the burger, so it's fine.
The juices and desserts are a bonus, as they accentuate the dining experience with a flair. Love that they have these! I am too lazy to make my own raw cake/ pie slices, and they do a fabulous job. The portions are generous.
The salads are great portions - they might be too large for some people, but, I have a large appetite and can easily eat the salad and the burger I order. Ha ha. I like the Kale-fornia. So simple but so good with the hummus-y-tahini-y dressing. Yum!
The prices are really great, if you think about it. For what you're getting - it's a deal!
I love love love this place and am so happy there's one closer to home. The burgers are my favorite - don't ask me which one I prefer, because I don't know! Beets are sweet but broccoli has a great flavor, too! Fake tuna here is not heavy like other fake tuna, so, yes, it's nice! Nothing here feels heavy and artificial, which can happen at some vegan eateries. So, thanks, Gangster Vegan for heading south to MD!
In my dreams, they'll expand their menu a little more so I can try some more creations!

I found this gem tucked away in Riverdale. I had heard rumors and been waiting for the Riverdale location to open. Even with the coronavirus craziness I had to go support and experience Gangster Vegan for myself. Believe me when I say Gangster vegan didn’t disappointment. The staff was friendly and helpful and the food is raw done right. I got a CREAM smoothie ... and the Kalefornia Soul bowl and a Bonita Applebaum pie for dessert .... all were delicious!! Can’t wait to go back and try more.
