Okay if you are hitting the road early and need a bite to eat

I was hesitant to try this place out because of the other 1 star review but I was heading out of Nelson early and it was one of the only options open at 7ish.

Agree with the other review - the value wasn’t there for $16. The food wasn’t terrible just wasn’t anything special. Will do the trick if you need something in your tummy.

The toast came buttered so if you do end up eating here do ask for dry toast if you are vegan.

On a positive note - the vibe in there was nice.

Not Impressed

I was really looking forward to having some breakfast and ordered the vegan scramble. It was a really wet mixture of tofu and chick peas served with breakfast potatoes and dry toast and a small side of processed avocado. The tofu and chick peas did not taste anything like egg - and was actually oddly sweet. I appreciate that it was served with a bit of avocado for the toast - but it was the super processed stuff you get from the grocery store with that weird smooth almost watery texture and chemical taste. The potatoes were great but there weren't very many of them. At a cost of something like $16 I expected something better - or at least the scramble to even remotely taste egg like. It seems to me they just slapped something on the menu to say they have a vegan option without having any knowledge to understand how to make a nice meal. Very disappointing.

Pros: Fantastic breakfast potatoes, Great location

Cons: Did not taste like egg, Small portions, High price for what it was
