Great

Food was delicious and the owners were kind. I will note that they do use honey in some teas and meal C you must ask for butter to be removed so not 100% vegan.

Homely, delicious and unique

Incredible wholesome comfort Taiwanese food, rice and noodle soup dishes. All vegan. Sat on the patio outside the converted townhouse. So refreshing and surprising after going to all the fancy hipster restaurants that have sub par vegan options...

Pros: All vegan , Inexpensive

Delightful vegan restaurant

The owner of this restaurant is a sweet lady who explained the meaning of How Shang Shway in the English words and also Chinese characters! She took pride in the food she prepared for us - which was incredibly delicious. She asked us where we were from and how we found out about the restaurant. There was a whole menu of tea to choose from and a small menu for food - which is good. I would highly recommend a stop here and sit outside and look out at the lake if possible.

Pros: Small menu with only awesome food, Large tea menu, Lake views

Cons: No washroom I could see, Hard to find, Busy street noise

Comfort food in a zen teahouse

Food menu is varied (noodle soup, dumplings, rice dishes, specials etc), delicious, fresh, and authentic (like using silken tofu and goji berries when you're supposed to), while the tea menu is more extensive and has descriptions of the benefits to each blend. Feels like I'm having a home cooked meal in my mom's kitchen - if her kitchen looked out onto BCs mountainscape! Highly recommended / I regret not stopping by at the beginning of my trip so we could return all weekend!

Pros: All vegan, many herbal teas, calm atmosphere

Cons: cash only
