Vegan junk food with a twist

We were van-camping in West Kirkby and drove over to Birkenhead just to try the food - we didn't realise it was collection or delivery only, not a takeaway but we managed to order on the website and pick up. Absolutely delighted to see a separate gluten free menu. We tried lots of options (please excuse the terrible pics, the lights weren't working in the van so pics are with flash on!). My favourite was the katsu loaded fries. My partner loved the slutty bao for dessert! Highly recommended.

Pros: Gluten free options , Fully vegan , Lots of choice

Wow!

We had such an amazing takeaway last night. Two of us had an oriental box and another had the bao bun variety box. We all loved every aspect of our choices. I particularly enjoyed the tofu, gyoza and bao (katsu pumpkin). Can’t wait to try more of the menu! Getting the oriental box was great way to try variety of options.

Delicious!

Absolutely brilliant food!
Have been eating forked up food since they were delivering to beach yoga and have visited every one of their sites since - it's always been a real treat.
The oriental boxes are our fave where you get a bit of everything 🤩
Love to see this vegan business thriving! 💪🌱🌟

Pros: Fully vegan, Passionate staff

Really tasty, though not good value

We have got two take aways from here during the last six months and would do more often (probably every week) if it was better value for money. We feel like we are paying through the nose for a large quantity of rice/noodles with a small topping of absolutely delicious vegan food on top. The bao buns were my favourite thing, though again, the portion seemed small for the price.

Pros: An all vegan business, Food fresh and nicely presented, Not deep fried stodge

Cons: The ratio of carbs to tasty toppings is way off, Access to building is difficult, Hard to park nearby

Delicious food - bit pricey

I've visited forked up for a couple of years, I originally went when it took over Habibi and then when it was in Woodside. Although I prefer an indoor eating setting I've had takeout a few times here since it moved to takeaway only and the food is still as delicious as it was. It is a little bit more than I would usually pay so I tend to order when I receive a discount code, unfortunately this time I forgot to add it and already paid and was told when I got there they couldn't validate it which was fair enough I suppose. I probably wouldn't have ordered the blag wings otherwise though if I realised I was paying full price as they seem to have had a price increase and the portion is rather small for £5.90. I also ordered my usual, the salt and pepper bowl, very tasty but I have to agree with other reviews I've seen elsewhere that there is quite a bit of rice and at the end I'm always left with plain rice as there's not enough sauce and tofu for the dish. If they added in more sauce and a bit more tofu and increased some of their portion sizes then I feel the price could be more justified as their food is tasty.

Pros: Tofu bites, Blag wings

Cons: Portion sizes - ratio of rice to sauce & main food, Price

Good food in a relaxed atmosphere

Impressed by the food that was served. We had the oriental bowl which was very generous and the katsu curry which was delicious. Would definitely come again.

It's in the food hall inside the old ferry terminal, after the stalls. A little hard to spot, but great once inside with a lovely view of the river.

Pros: Generous portions , Plenty of seating space , Tasty food

Cons: A little hard to find

Best vegan food for miles!

We have been to Forked Up a couple of times now and we're never disappointed. My partner is allergic to soy and our server was very knowledgeable and advised him the best meals to go for. I had the Got No Beef bowl and it was amazing. Partner had Korean Snide Chicken and loved it. We shared a plate of Togarashi Fries. I also had the Apple Pye Gyoza which was so good.

If you're in the area, you must go! Best vegan meal I've had for a long time.

Fantastic

Lovely friendly place with great food, I wanted to try everything on the menu. The highlight was the caramel bao with ice cream and toasted nuts. Good drinks choice (nice beer and non alcohol things). Easy to get to from Liverpool on the train from Liverpool Central to New Brighton, and a lovely walk on the beach afterwards!

Pros: Everything is vegan, Dessert bao, Lovely friendly atmosphere

The perfect meal out!!

I went with my family as a congratulations dinner for my gcse results and i was not disappointed!! The food was absolutely perfect from the flavour to the presentation, it was all gone in a matter of minutes. The table staff were beyond amazing even though it was chocker and the service time for food was so fast.

The salt and pepper bites and the jarg peking duck bao buns were favourites of mine.

Will absolutely be returning!!!!

Pros: incredible food and drinks, friendly staff, filling portion sizes

Cons: None

Amazing food! Very impressed

We were really impressed with the food from this place! Bao Buns we’re fantastic and the Oriental Bowl was delicious and perfect for two with a side of fries.

The desert was also incredible 😋

Pros: Good options, Reasonably priced, Friendly staff

Great weekend spot

I'm not sure whether they move locations, or what sort of places they usually pop up in, but for now they're in Habibi Bar. We were staying in New Brighton (for an event in Liverpool), and this was an ideal place for our first night. Fantastic drinks selection, and lots of delicious options on the menu. I'd never had a deep-fried bao bun before! Staff were lovely, and had a relaxed vibe.

I considered giving a four because after one trip I felt like I'd exhausted most of the menu options that excited me. However, as it's New Brighton and not Liverpool, it seemed like this was the best place for vegans in the area. There were a couple of other places on Happy Cow which were an hour or so walk away in Birkenhead, but we couldn't fit those into our schedule. I'd recommend here if you were out for the night for drinks and looking for bites to share.
