Get the root vegetables! - Edit
Fig is very popular, with only a few tables and usually an hour wait (during peak tourist season). Waitstaff are foreigners, which is interesting. We asked to make the veggie burger vegan, but were told it is bound by egg, so we ordered the root vegetables with hummus— something that did not sound super appetizing, but it was the only other vegan option along with a vegetable korma. The vegetable korma was ok— very strong, a nice level of spice but nothing to write home about. The root vegetables however were amazing, really a flavor unlike I’ve ever had before. The texture was perfect, the hummus was incorporated into the dish in a way that I couldn’t imagine it otherwise, and everything was a little sweet with a balsamic glaze (this dish usually has local honey on it but can come without). It was truly fantastic! I’d recommend this dish to everyone. The prices again were not bad- the dining experience felt extravagant but then when the check came it was only 215 kuna, 15 kuna from ordering more bread to eat the korma with.
Read moreTo note- the restaurant does not take reservations and you must wait nearby (sitting on steps or a bench) for your table, so bring a book or something!
Pros: Amazing dish
Cons: Long wait times, Not many vegan options

Delicious - Edit
The menu is clearly marked: VG for vegan and OVG for can be made vegan (optional vegan). There is only one VG but lots of OVG options. I opted for two OVG dishes listed as starters/salads: Watermelon salad (amazing!!!) and chimichurie potatoes (yum!). The portions were surprisingly generous, especially as I ordered from the starters list. Would recommend this place!

Really good food but limited options - Edit
Really good for breakfast! Can get the California toast (basically guac) on the most amaaaaazing bread with a super fresh salad. The breakfast burrito is really good without eggs or sour cream. They do coffees/iced coffee and usually offer soy milk but hadn’t had their delivery when we were there. Really good service and all staff knowledgeable of the menu. They have a branch in Split too with the same menu! We had the curry there which was nice but a bit watery, but again with the amazing bread. And the roast veg and hummus dish don’t be put off it’s actually delicious!!! I thought there’d be nothing to it and I’d be left hungry but it’s sooo tasty. Also got the chimichurri fries but they weren’t that special, and we didn’t need them with the two big mains!

Veggie food Hvar - Edit
Fig is such a perfect place to get both lunch and dinner. As a vegan I always think its gonna be difficult to eat out, but not here. So easy to get vegan options and Even if it was just Vegetarian dish, was it easy to make it vegan.

Yummiest breakfast - Edit
The vegan breakfast options are delicious, served til 1pm. The menu indicates meals where vegan versions can be made. We're planning on returning there for dinner to try the non-breakfast options.

Tasty but very limited options - Edit
We had the roasted vegetables with hummus, and a salad of beetroot and oranges that we asked to remove the non-vegan cheese from. Both were nice, but they were the only options during the day. During the morning, there's an avocado toast that can be served without the egg and that's it.

Amazing service and so good - Edit
There are very limited vegan options but the ones that are offered are insanely delicious. We had the sweet potato fries and roasted veggies with homemade hummus. I was completely full but wanted so much more. I can’t describe how good the food tasted. Also everyone working was fun and cheerful and you can tell they love their team. Great place to be. Highly recommend.

Best food I’ve had in Croatia - Edit
Easily the best food I’ve had in Croatia. We were a group of 2 vegetarians and 1 vegan. The staff were super helpful. We had the Fig and Cheese Bread for the starter, they put the cheese on the side for our Vegan. The Vegetable Korma was unreal!!! And the roasted Veges (vegan option) were surprisingly one of the best meals at the table. We loved this place so much we went back for breakfast. The Vege Breakfast burrito can be made vegan by removing the sour cream and eggs, and the Californian Toast was super yum!

Lovely food, around 4/5 vegetarian or vegan main options and a few more if you come for breakfast too. I had the hummus and root vegetables and my partner had the vegetable korma. Both were lovely. Amazing staff too- really friendly, honest and knowledgeable.

Buenísimas y ricas / Great and tasty vegan options - Edit

They have breakfast, lunch and dinner options, all label as vegan. We taste the Argentinian chimichurri potato's that were delicious and the roasted veggies (potato's, carrot, berrote, onions) over home made chickpeas hummus with special sauce that was surprisingly good!
We were very lucky that the staff was super nice and friendly and have us a special treat. They all specks Spanish (many Latinos) so was even better.
Fair quality/price compare with other restorant in town with vegan options.
Pros: The roasted veggies, Tasty and cool place, Great staff Label options
Cons: Would add more vegan options , Because there food is really good

2 vegan options - Edit
This place is in a nice setting in Stari Grad. The options were roasted veg with hummus, or salad with goats cheese removed. They had bread. So limited vegan options but still a place which openly advertised for ‘veggies and vegans’ on its notice board outside.

Amazing vegan food! - Edit
The waiter (owner?) recommended us honey roasted vegetables with hummus (without honey). Good food makes me SO happy and this was one of the best dishes we had on our 1,5 week holiday in Croatia. We were happy to pay 100 kunas (~14€) for the dish. Just tell them you are vegan and they tell you which dishes work vegan as well :)

Just say you’re vegan... many options! - Edit
If you say you’re vegan they can customise the menu for you. Breakfast lunch or dinner! We had the amazing roasted vegetables with hummus WITHOUT THE HONEY and also a flatbread WITHOUT THE CHEESE. If we had been around for breakfast we would have enjoyed the food there too. Please ignore other reviews that say the vegan options aren’t vegan - just say you’re vegan and they do the rest for you. Easy! This made our trip to Hvar much easier

There was one vegan item on the menu which was made with honey, which kind of defeats the purpose of that dish for many vegans. The restaurant was very cosy and cute. It is well located and easy to find. And i heard from my non vegan/non vegetarian friends that the food was very very good.
